My family is celebrating Christmas in Connecticut! Today’s post is a recap of our visit so far, including a trip to the Polar Express.
Tuesday night we flew up to Connecticut with the girls – they were pretty great on the plane but I do have my fears about flying home alone with them in two weeks. A lap baby and a seated toddler on the plane isn’t bad when there are two adults, but with just one Momma might be tricky. I’ll need some luck.
Celebrating Christmas in Connecticut wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Polar Express.
Yesterday we rode the Polar Express and it was SO much fun. Annabelle fell asleep on the way to Essex so she was a little groggy on the beginning of the trip. She brightened up when the Elf running our train cart started singing and dancing, though.
Mrs. Clause and Santa stopped by and gave Annabelle her very own magic bell to ring whenever she wants to remind herself of the magic of St. Nick. Annabelle and Ailey are so lucky to have had their grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousin come on the train with her – plus Mommy and Daddy.
The adults definitely outnumbered the kids but we all had a lot of fun. Next year’s trip on the train will be even better because we plan to take the Polar Express ride before Christmas.
There is a winter storm headed our direction, but unfortunately all we will see at my parent’s house is rain. We are hopefully driving up to Vermont tomorrow for a little adult’s escape with my sisters, brother in law, and their friends and the lovely state is DEFINITELY getting some major snow in that area.
I haven’t taken many pictures of our trip so far, just a few of us opening Christmas presents (ummm how amazing is my Gilmore Girls shirt?!!?) and then our Polar Express trip.
We surprised my Dad with two University of Michigan hats since the one he wears every day is faded and sad looking. He told us Ailey can wear his new one until his falls apart… I think I will toss his in the trash before we leave.
Here’s to hoping the rain turns to snow here in Connecticut! Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
