It is no joke how quickly time flies when you have a baby. One minute they are teeny tiny newborns and with the blink of an eye, they are almost six months old. We are trying to #CelebrateEveryGoal, or milestone, our daughter Annabelle reaches – from her first smile to her first laugh – with the hope that we can slow down life a little. This past month we watched Annabelle learn to sit up. We knew that when she officially sat up on her own, we had to celebrate her feat in some way. Since its summertime, we decided we would have to celebrate outside. What better way to celebrate sitting up on your own than with your first pool?!
After picking out the perfect blow-up pool for Annabelle, I had to make sure she, and her parents, would be protected from the harsh Georgia summer sun’s rays. I headed to our local Walgreens where I knew I could find sunscreen at a great price. They have a promotion right now where you can buy a variety of Johnson and Johnson products and receive 3,000 points with your Balance Rewards Card when you spend $15 or more. Neutrogena is one of my favorite sunscreens, so I was pretty pumped when I saw it was part of the promotion! They also have everything one would need if they spent too much time in the sun: Aveeno lotion to soothe your sunburn and Tylenol to help with the pain.
After giving my husband and myself a quick spray of Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen (which smells amazing) and covering Annabelle with Neutrogena’s Baby Sunscreen, we were ready to put her in the kiddie pool. At first, she didn’t know what to make of her new surroundings. My husband sang some of her favorite songs and showed her how to splash around.
I can’t imagine that we would’ve put Annabelle in a kiddie pool if she hadn’t learned how to sit up yet. But at almost six months old, our little angel wowed us by sitting up on her own and we were able to celebrate this goal by letting her splashing around in her own little pool. My husband and I are so proud of her!
Our day celebrating Annabelle sitting up by letting her play in a kiddie pool was one we will never forget. We are headed to the beach again next month where hopefully we will celebrate a few more of her goals this summer: crawling and standing. If we continue to celebrate all of her goals, then we will have lots of memories to look back upon!

You should take her little pool to the beach! We bought a cheap little plastic one to take to the lake with us a few weekends ago, and it was great. We were able to set it up on the dock and let Beckett float in his baby float while we fished & laid out. 🙂

I was thinking the same thing, however this one is kind of a pain to deflate and store for a car ride! When we go back to the beach next month we are thinking of getting something similar for her to paly in!

Great ideas! I am sure A will be protected from head to toe, as will you and Hubby.
