On Wednesday, Annabelle, B, and I will be well on our way to Destin. We are headed to B’s family’s condo to celebrate his 30th birthday, his promotion at work, and Memorial Day. This will be Annabelle’s FIRST time at the beach! As beach trips go, there are tons of items one needs. Last year I posted a list of what I’d need being a momma to be at the beach. This year is a bit different since I’m 1. not pregnant and 2. I have a baby in tow. After asking around, here are some of the items I was told I would need for a pleasant trip with my little beach baby.
Some other tips I’ve received:
Paintbrush – to get the sand off baby
Plastic Kiddie Pool – baby doesn’t have to sit directly in the sand while at the beach
Baby Powder/Cornstarch – rub this on baby to prevent the sand from sticking to her little body
Multiple Blankets – if your blanket gets sandy, switch it out for a clean one
Portable Fan
Wagon
Spray bottle filled with ice and cold water
Have you ever brought a baby to the beach? What are some MUST HAVE items that you never forget?

Thanks for posting! I’ve been looking everywhere for a sun suit for my 3 month old!

The baby powder is used when baby is wet and sand is stuck to her! It dries the water and makes the sand easy to brush off! Best trick I ever learned! Have so much fun!!

We live in Hawaii and have been taking our baby to the beach since she was 6 months old, your list looks really good. A wagon is a lifesaves to hold all the stuff they need! I’m not sure how practical a kiddie pool would be, it might be a lot to carry. If you have a bumbo, I would bring that too. We used it as a “high chair” to feed her.
