One. VACATION
Next Wednesday I am heading down to Destin with Annabelle, my husband, and his family. Not only will we celebrate Memorial Day, but also B’s 30th birthday, his promotion at work!, and Annabelle’s first trip to the beach. If you’ve been keeping up with me on the blog, it isn’t any news that I’ve been struggling with sleep deprivation and a cranky baby. This trip will give me the opportunity to catch up on some sleep, get some sun, and let Annabelle bond with her Coco, Pop, and Great Mammy and Poppy.
Two. Season Finales
Did you happen to catch the season finales of either Grey’s Anatomy or The Vampire Diaries? Without spoiling the episodes for anyone, let’s just say there were lots of tears and sniffles going on over here. I don’t know how I will be able to wait until the Fall to see what happens on either show. Speaking of having to wait for shows, Parenthood and The Walking Dead are also on my list!
Three. Stripes and Popovers.
I know that these items do not match… but J.Crew Factory’s Oxford Popover and Modern Red Chino Shorts just found their way into my suitcase for my trip to Florida. I didn’t buy much for our trip because I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe this year. Last summer, I was limited to wearing loose dresses (due to my baby bump) and I cried on a daily basis as item after item in my closet became too tight to wear! Now everything that didn’t fit before fits and I am one happy girl.
Since I decided to give up cheese, I needed something to help me through these rough patches of Mommyhood.
ENTER: The Cupcake. I know it’s terrible for my diet, but cheese is just as fattening, right?
Five. This Girl
How could I not say that Annabelle is one of my Five on Friday? Even though she refuses to sleep at night, sounds like a wet cat when she doesn’t get her way, and won’t let me leave her with anyone – I still love the heck out of her. She gives me purpose in life.

Ella’s first trip to the beach is one of my favorite memories! Actually, it was her second trip because technically she went when she was 8 weeks old, but last year was amazing! I can’t wait to take her again in August! I hope you guys have a great time & I did order the red shorts!
Caitlin says
How did she do on the beach? Did you have someone help you to take care of her?
Bri Bliss says
We go to the beach with my parents & my sister, so we had help. It would’ve been overwhelming without them. She liked the ocean once she figured it out, but keeping her from eating sand was a challenge. We spent a lot of time at our beach house’s pool & brought our own inflatable kiddie pool for Ella to play in. It was one of the best ideas my dad has ever had!
Caitlin says
The blow up pool is a brilliant idea! My husband’s family’s condo has a pool, and I was thinking we could spend a lot of time there if she freaks out on the beach. My inlaws are coming and will be able to help take care of her. I hate to sound selfish, but I really want to lay in the sun for awhile with a cocktail and a good book… and no baby pulling down my bathing suit top to eat! Is that bad?

I’ve recently gotten hooked on popovers too – Old Navy had some surprisingly cute, cheap ones, and now I gotta have ’em all!
Caitlin says
Ah I bought one that had 3/4 sleeves and I love it… but hate how it fits. Most of their tops fit me SO weird since I am breastfeeding and have issues with a big top haha.

Have a great vacation! Love your J.Crew picks. Thanks for stopping by my blog… glad to have found yours!

Thanks! I am excited to have found yours too!

So much to say!
Have fun down at Destin! I would love a beach getaway right about now! And I hope your baby girl loves the beach.
I saw a preview for the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy and all the craziness that’s going on with Christina….I’m tempted to watch all the seasons that are on Netflix. I haven’t watched it in years!
Cupcakes would definitely be a top pick for me if I gave up cheese. Go you!

Ok, I have Grey’s and VD both on the DVR right now waiting for my hubby to get home from travel. So excited to watch (I’ll be sure and have the tissues ready).
Love that cupcakes are helping you through this time of giving up cheese. That, my dear, is an amazing thing.
And your daughter is absolutely adorable! That face, oh my goodness!
Have a lovely weekend!
Caitlin says
Ohhh you’ll have to let me know what you think! I am dying to talk to someone about VD!!!!

I love your daughter’s name!! It’s one of my picks if I ever have a daughter. I think subbing cupcakes for cheese is a great idea! If you can’t have one thing at least be happy with the other, right? Have a great weekend and check out the giveaway on my blog!

What a cute picture of your daughter! I have a terrible sleeper too and it is exhausting! Once I just accepted it though, I find that I feel much more rested even though I’m actually not. Mine almost 2 year old still wakes up 4-6 times a night! I will sleep one day…
