Our third daughter, Arbor, is nine months old. I’m sharing her nine month old stats with 40 week old traits, likes and dislikes, and more!
Arbor’s Nine Month Old Stats
Weight – 21.3lbs
Height – 2ft 5 inches
Arbor is a big girl (hah) and currently wearing 9-12 or 12-18 month clothing depending on the brand. She wears size 3 diapers.
See how Arbor’s size compares to Ailey nine months old and Annabelle nine months old.
Teeth: Arbor has FOUR new teeth coming in on top – three are more visible every day. She likes to use her teeth to bite my arm when I pick her up sometimes.
Sleep: When she turned 9 months old on September 6th we noticed she started disliking her third nap of the day, so we have been phasing it out. I need to figure out a new nap schedule but would like to consult our sleep consultant first! We also would love some tips on how to keep her from tossing every pacifier she owns out of the crib and then crying until someone brings her a new one.
She’s taking longer naps and going to bed easier at night. A sleep routine at 9 months old (or any age) is essential! She is starting to enjoy reading a book before bed (or reading them to herself). Arbor struggles at falling back to sleep in the middle of the night from time to time, crying until you come and hug her then lay her back down. I think she is beginning to really embrace the whole separation anxiety thing that happens around this age. She already picked up on stranger anxiety for a select few!
Standing: Arbor call pull up to stand on anything and everything. She likes to crawl over to furniture and pull herself up proudly. If she pulls up on a table she will pull everything off of the top she can reach – and she does the same with the bookshelf in my bedroom. She’s doing very well with standing and I hope it doesn’t lead to early walking!
Arbor’s Favorites at 9 Months Old
Favorite Things: Dancing, watching music videos in Daddy’s lap, listening to music on Alexa in the kitchen, playing peek-a-boo, wearing her beret, chasing Muffin, watching people mow the lawn, waving to cars that drive by. Arbor likes putting the little screw covers from the toilet base in her mouth, standing in her crib, standing in her high chair, banging on the storm door to the front yard, looking at family photos and having you say the names, crawling across the bed after a tubby without a diaper. Arbor also loves looking in the mirror!
Dislikes: Balloons, washing her hands after she eats, getting changed before she nurses after a nap, getting changed after a tubby, being put in her stroller when she wants to be held.
Words She Can Say (sort of): Hi, Bye, Dada, Mama, Abell (Annabelle), Ai-ya (Ailey) – she also repeats things we say sometimes – like UP when I ask if she wants to be picked up. She is getting more and more chatty intentionally every day.
Favorite Foods: scrambled eggs, toast with butter or jelly, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pasta with sauce, meatballs, shredded chicken – she actually likes almost everything we give her! If she doesn’t like it (or is full) she tosses it all on the ground. I’m so happy I introduced her to the same foods we eat – dinnertime is much easier without having to make multiple meals. I think I need to write a post about feeding babies…
Fun Firsts: Arbor learned how to do High Five and points every once in awhile. She is standing A LOT and one time stood unassisted. Arbor can wave Hi and Bye (and say it too!). She’s beginning to dance (bounce) to music while standing and likes to hold out her hand while doing so. Arbor took her first trip to the apple orchard AND we let her gnaw on a whole apple fresh from the tree.

She is an absolute charmer, her personality already shines so bright!
