I’m 23 weeks pregnant and sharing everything from symptoms to weight gain to pregnancy cravings. Enjoy Caitlin Houston’s 23 week bump update.
How far along are you? 23 weeks
How I’m feeling: Exercise is still a life saver. The days that I don’t go to the gym I am so sluggish. The days that I do – I am bursting with energy! Annabelle is giving me some growing pains and my stomach is a different story every day.
Total weight gain: According to the scale at the gym – I am up 14lbs. I’ve been lifting weights and my clothes are fitting the same, so I am sure its muscle in my legs and arms! I won’t know until I go to the doctor how much I’ve actually gained.
Cool baby facts: Annabelle’s face is fully formed! She can hear my voice – and Muffin crying – and her Daddy singing songs.
How big is baby? Our cute little AB is the size of a grapefruit.
Sleep: Naps are coming back into my daily routine. I have to get up 1-2 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and its so annoying because then it takes me an hour to fall back to sleep!
Maternity Clothes: Loving my cropped leggings from Motherhood Maternity – about to buy another pair because I wear them every day! Some of my long tank tops are looking shorter every day… and my regular size tanks show my belly now! So not cute.
Best Pregnancy Moment this week
The barista at Starbucks asked me, “How many months?” Let’s just say that I was in such a state of shock that someone noticed I was pregnant for once that I told him my green Starbucks rewards card had until Feb 2014 until it was up. He stared at me like I was an idiot and asked again, “How many months PREGNANT are you?”
Movement: I am starting to think that Annabelle is standing straight up and down. I feel something hard around my belly button, and then all her kicks are aimed right at my lady parts. It is uncomfortable and even hurts a little!
Food cravings: I don’t know what it is with Calzone, but its all I think about. Peanut butter. Lots and lots of water. Cheese sticks. Arizona Green Tea in one of those big cans for 99 cents.
Food aversions:Lots of things that I used to normally love to eat don’t sound appetizing to me. For example, I never want eggs for breakfast, but eggs for lunch is okay.
Belly button in or out: When I take a deep breath it starts to poke out!
What I miss: Being able to go braless at night… I lactate too much to risk not wearing something and waking up all wet.
What I’m looking forward to:So many things: my baby shower in CT on Sept. 7th, our 3rd anatomy scan on Sept 10th.
Randoms: You know that brown line everyone says that you get under your belly button? I think mine is starting to show itself… gross.

I have two pairs of MM leggings. I wore them the other day just because it was cool out and they’re definitely comfy!! I’m notorious for ripping them, though, so here’s to hoping I don’t rip those expensive things!

I LOVE that name! So freakin’ cute! As are you! 🙂

I love Annabelle! Too cute! And Iaughed out loud at your Starbucks story… I did something similar the other day at a business meeting when a guy asked me how I got there. I said, “A car…?” and he said, “no, what route?” I felt like an idiot, haha.

You look great! And I love the name Annabelle. Is your CT shower at a restaurant or someone’s house? I hope the weather is a little cooler and less humid than it has been the past few days!

What a cute bump!! I seriously had peanut butter pretzels everyday when I was pregnant. someone told me an old wives tale that says peanuts make your baby’s hair grow and mine was born with a TON!
I’ll be following your updates!
