Ahh my students are so funny. Today we are having a little fiesta for Cinco de Mayo in my classroom. The kiddies have been learning all about the Mexican holiday, as well as some Spanish words. I have been teaching them the names of our body parts so we can play Simon dice (Simon Says) today and my little student from Puerto Rico has been correcting me on EVERYTHING. He says I don’t pronounce the words right.Leave it to a 7 year old to call you out on your bad Spanish accent….
Since last Saturday I have been swamped with schoolwork… if I am not writing a paper or a lesson plan, I am sleeping. I told Mr. Bear that sadly he has atleast a month until he can hang out with me normally again. Our “hanging out” has been me on the computer, him watching the tv, in the same room. It’s pathetic.
Mr. Bear’s Graduation May 2008 – Mr. Bear’s brother is in blue
This weekend we are going to Mr. Bear’s brother’s graduation in Tennessee. It is a 7 hour drive and guess who has to type a paper on the way down?! This girl.
However, once we get to Tennessee we are going to get to see Mr. Bear’s parents – both sets! And his grandparents! I haven’t seen them in months! I am so excited to see little B graduate too – when I met him he was barely 15 and shorter than me…my how time flies!

U’ll get through the busy times, dont worry, it will all be worth it!
My students correct my accent any time I try to say something in Spanish too! They are the cutest! Happy weekend!
