The holiday season is always extremely busy – not just for Moms who play Santa, but also in the blogworld. I feel like I haven’t had a chance to breathe between drafts due and photos to take, but that’s ok. I’m happy to bring you amazing content, blessed to be busy, and thrilled its December. I promised myself each day to take a little bit of time to do something for me and something for my family. Soaking in the Christmas cheer around our home is a top priority…and stopping to smell the fresh Christmas tree and wreaths hanging on our door.
Boots // Poncho from Boscovs (Similar)
I’ll be posting What I’m Loving Lately here and there while Friday Favorites takes a break. In these posts, I will share everything from what I’m watching on t.v. to a what I’m wearing to random stuff I’ve found on the internet. I know FF have always been a weekly thing, but I have a lot going on the next few Fridays!!! I hope you enjoy this stuff on my love list.
one // Paper Culture
I’m so excited to share our Christmas cards from Paper Culture with you soon! The company is incredibly dedicated to the future of our planet and the world our children will grow up in. What that means is every card is made not from regular paper – but from 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Furthermore, they will plant a tree (in a person of your choice’s honor) as a part of every order. Talk about the smallest carbon footprint making the LOUDEST sound, right? Right now their holiday cards are 50% off through 12.7.18.
two // You are a Badass at Making Money
Okay so I can’t pretend I’ve read this book, but I will tell you it’s on my Christmas list. My sister has been telling me about it for a few weeks and it sounds like it’s a life changer. If you’re a blogger/small business owner/a human who aspires to make money, then this book is for you.
three // the BEST planner
I’ve talked about Plum Paper Planners on here before – they are the really the best planners for anyone who likes to stay organized, but wants to customize their own stuff. I love that I have a place to write our weekly menu and a tab dedicated to blog collaborations. Check them out… they make a great gift for anyone!
four // Dudley Stephens
Investment pieces… that’s what I call items over $100 that I purchase and know I will wear until they fall apart. I found Dudley Stephens while searching through a hashtag (either CapeCod or Nantucket) and fell in love with the brand. Not only was Dudley Stephens started by two sisters living on Long Island, but the idea was inspired by their childhood clothing and named after their Mom. I love a small business founded on family! Dudley Stephens designs pieces that transition easily from the city to the country to the shore made proudly and sustainably in Brooklyn from recycled yarn.
five // a REAL vacuum for kids
My girls love to vacuum, but the real deal is kind of hard to maneuver. Dyson and Pottery Barn Kids have designed a REAL vacuum for kids, just their size, that actually picks up small pieces of paper. Santa needs to bring this to my girls for Christmas so they can keep their playroom clean.
six // super cool idioms
Do you know how difficult it is to explain to a non-native English speaker the meaning behind an idiom? I have a friend from Columbia who used to chuckle at my use of idioms, but loved when I could describe the story behind it! Here are a bunch of super cool idioms you should use.
That kid vacuum is pretty funny – picks up small bits of paper but not dirt?
There were a few Idioms i’ve never heard – I’ve always said Mountain out of a Mole Hill, not Storm in a Teacup.
