Hosting a sleepover birthday party can be an exciting, memorable, and sometimes stressful experience. Want to know how to have a stress free slumber party? Hosting the ultimate slumber party has never been so easy with Rosebud Slumber Parties.

A sleepover birthday party is a right of passage in a little kid’s life. I know I’ll never forget my first slumber party in 4th grade with 10 of my closest friends! There was lots of dancing, junk food, and giggles from our sleeping bags. I was so excited when my oldest daughter, Annabelle, asked to celebrate her ninth birthday with her very first sleepover. We talked about all of the details for weeks, purchased our supplies, and got ready for the big event. Unfortunately when the exciting night finally arrived, it was cut short with a very high fever and the flu.
How to Have a Stress Free Slumber Party with Rosebud Slumber Parties
Annabelle begged to re-do her birthday sleepover for months. Imagine our excitement when Rosebud Slumber Parties offered to give Annabelle a Beverly Hills themed slumber party! Rosebud Slumber Parties is a Connecticut based slumber and picnic party experience company. Not only will Rosebud deliver and set up everything you need, but they also return in the morning to take it all away!
My family and our guests were blown away at the Beverly Hills themed slumber party set up in our family room. The attention to detail is impeccable, with a personalized birthday sign and Polaroid camera ready to be used. There are twinkly lights on each handmade A-frame tent, plus a dream catcher and palm leaf decoration. Each sleeping area has a foam mattress with cotton sheets, pink fluffy blanket, and comfy pillow and shams. There are decorative pillows, a faux fur rug, and tray table with a night light. Rosebud Slumber Parties also gifts each guest a ‘Sleepover Essentials Kit’, with travel-sized toothbrush, paste and other necessities.
Tips to Create the Ultimate Slumber Party
Here are some tips to help you create the ultimate slumber party (with a little help from Connecticut’s Rosebud Slumber Parties):
- Choose a Theme: Select a fun and engaging theme for the sleepover – or keep it laid back – whatever works for you will work for your guests. Annabelle’s Beverly Hills theme was perfect for her new obsession with Troop Beverly Hills. Rosebud Slumber Parties has a theme for everyone – Under the Sea, Midnight Garden, Minecraft, Unicorns & Rainbows, Winter Wonderland, etc. And don’t worry – they decorate the sleeping space so that you don’t have to!
- Invitations: Send out creative invitations to your guests – bonus if your child makes them herself! Highlight the theme and include important details such as the date, time, and location of the sleepover.
- Activities and Games: Plan a variety of activities and games to keep everyone entertained throughout the night. Some ideas include Mad Libs, spa activities, a scavenger hunt, karaoke sessions, homemade fashion show, or a movie screening. Bonus: choose a movie to match the theme of the party!
- Sleepover Set-Up: This is the BEST part about Rosebud Slumber Parties – they set-up and break down individual A-frame tents and teepees, and comfy beds for all of your guests!
- Food and Snacks: Prepare a menu of delicious snacks and drinks for kids to enjoy during a sleepover. Dinner, snacks, and breakfast are usually included at a sleepover birthday party. Opt for easy-to-eat finger foods like pizza, popcorn, fruit skewers, and cupcakes. Breakfast can be the birthday child’s favorite, or serve pancakes, donuts, etc.
- Goodie Bags: Goodie bags are not always required at a birthday party. A fun gift for a slumber party guest is something they can use at the party (sleeping mask, sweet treats, fuzzy socks, etc.). If you don’t want to put together a goodie bag, Rosebud can do it for you! Check out the Add-Ons for a Rosebud Slumber Party here.
