I admit it… I ate a little bit of my good friend Turkey on Thanksgiving. I told myself I wasn’t going to do it – not only does it make my stomach full of gas (hehe), but I also feel really bad eating it…especially after seeing the turkeys Obama pardoned on the news. Just thinking of all the turkeys who didn’t make it to see Black Friday makes me sad.
Thanksgiving in Tennessee was everything I had hoped it would be – plus more! I didn’t eat too much – spent a ton of QT with my momma-in-law, saw Love and Other Drugs (bestest movie), and got to visit my good ole alma mater Rocky Top Tennessee!! I had a great time visiting with all of my in-laws AND was reunited with my bff, Kara (and B reunited with his bffs Jake and Dale). It was spectacular (even though we spent a few hours in the sketchiest townie bar ever).
Here are some pictures from our weekend in no particular order.
Southern Thanksgiving: sweet potato casserole, turkey, broccoli casserole, ‘dressing,’ ham (cooked in cola), noodles, deviled eggs, cranberries, mashed taters, gravy…. and green olive cream cheese boats (those are new englandish and in honor of me!)
Smooches from my bff Kara… I wish she didn’t live in Colorado!
My amazing momma-in-law
Big drinks in a real country bar
B and his bff Jake… I don’t remember why they look like they are crying
They have the same last name… because they are 33rd cousins or something… and if J marries K then K and I will have the SAME last name! We will be like sisters!
I miss her

In case you didn’t see the scores… Tennessee beat Kentucky for the 26th year in a row! Go Vols!
