Over a month ago, Brandon and Annabelle decided that she should be Tinkerbell for Halloween. I spent quite a bit of time looking on Etsy for a costume that I thought was cute, Tinkerbell-ish, and something she would actually wear. We kept the costume out of sight until Halloween day and crossed our fingers that she would wear the tutu and wings. We were all surprised when she put on the costume and twirled around like a little princess.
We brought her to Avalon, an outdoor shopping center, for a Halloween Trick-or-Treating event. She went store to store saying, “Trick or Treat” and collecting candy in her plastic pumpkin like she’s been doing it her whole life.
Afterwards, we hung out on the green where she ate more candy in 30 minutes than she has in her 22 months of life. I’ve never seen her act so crazy… which I know was thanks to the sugar pulsing through her veins.
After we all took a nap, we got ready to finally carve our pumpkin. A special thanks to our friend Bobbie for coming over to help with the removal of the guts, haha. She also took most of our pictures yesterday! This is the second Halloween we’ve spent with our neighbors since her kids were at their Dads. Then we went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. We were pretty disappointed since most of our neighbors were either not home or had their lights off! Next year we are definitely going elsewhere.
After each house we went to, Annabelle would say, “NEXT HOUSE.” She received handfuls of candy from the neighbors that were home! Since we live in a secluded area, no one really passes through. I know our neighbors were excited to see Tinkerbell on their doorstep!
Halloween this year was quite possibly the best Halloween I’ve ever had. Seeing Annabelle’s eyes light up with each piece of candy she put in her pumpkin was incredibly joyous. Our little girl has grown up so much since last Halloween when she was just a furry bunny who didn’t really understand why her Mom and Dad put her in a hot costume and pranced her around the neighborhood. This year, Annabelle twirled and twinkled all over town just like Tinkerbell. Brandon and I are so blessed to have such a happy little girl.
This Halloween was different than any other I’ve ever experienced. For the first time, in a long time, I was able to feel the magic, excitement, and thrill of Halloween. Now I see why Peter Pan never wanted to grow up.

I loved every picture it was almost as if I was there. Next year I will have to see if that can be possible, she is so precious and I am living vicariously through her joy of each new adventure.

Abbie was Tinkerbell too! And yes, I know EXACTLY what you mean about the magic. I was never a Halloween lover, but this one was too much fun!
