Remember that song about Mrs. O’Leary’s cow??
I have the campfire diddy stuck in my head this morning. My practice teaching was cancelled when the schools were closed due to the heat advisory for today. 104 degrees anyone??
I still have my own summer school to attend this afternoon though. Our school has air conditioning that’s usually on 50, so we don’t have to fear passing out from heat exhaustion.
My weekend seemed very long – almost too long – for yesterday afternoon when I opened my schoolbook to complete an assignment I felt like I hadn’t seen the book in a month. Not that I am complaining … it’s just I feel all out of sorts. I was on a roll last week and now I have to start all over.
Friday Mr. Bear and I met some new friends at a new bar: Tiki Barge. It is a floating bar complete with two tiki bars, palm trees, and a POOL. We were there in the evening so I didn’t hit up la piscina, but maybe next time I will catch some rays while drinking an orange crush on the harborview marina.
For the fourth of July we went to a lil BBQ at our friend’s place. I made a red velvet cake from scratch (article will be on The Hungry Southerner later this week), along with a ton of other food. The four of us channeled our college selves and played beer pong all evening. It was so much fun!
Now it’s time to run on over to the gym and then complete some assignments in place of the practice teaching I won’t be doing this morning. Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
P.S. If you live in a place with a heat advisory – stay indoors!!
Drink lots of fluids!
And don’t let your pets outside for long periods of time!

I know what you feel about the weekend being long – I loved it but didn’t really get to “relax” all that much!
Your cake looks beautiful! Russ isn’t big into cakes, but hopefully I’ll be able to sway him and try this one out!
STAY COOL! 🙂 Drink lots o’ H2O!

I am going to have to make that cake. It looks and sounds delicious! And that bar looks like fun! I want to go. Stay cool. It’s 100 here and I am wearing jeans and a sweater in the office because it’s so freaking cold!
