Since I became a Mom almost twelve years ago, it’s been fun introducing my daughters to the holiday movies I love so much. Fun fact: My daughters have been watching Christmas movies since the moment they were born! For all three of my labor and deliveries I had The Santa Clause, Home Alone, Elf, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation playing on the hospital television. There is nothing more magical than a newborn baby and a Christmas movie (even during August when Ailey was born).
Our Family’s Love for Holiday Movies
What is the greatest Christmas movie of all time? Everyone has a favorite Christmas movie from their youth that stands the test of time. I know my top five movies never change as I get older, but my list of Movies to Watch during the Holiday Season only gets longer.
For many people, holiday movies are filled with nostalgia. Christmas movies can be uplifting, sentimental, or even funny. There are enchanting moments in some of the corniest movies that bring us back to simpler times as children when life wasn’t so complicated. Or perhaps one of these movies is something you watched with a special family member and it reminds you of them.
