There’s just something about a crochet maxi dress… this is all about the ease of the summer maxi dress, especially when you’re a postpartum Mom.
It’s not just the ease of throwing a plain maxi dress and looking like you’re instantly ready for date night, but it’s the fact they do so much for a woman’s body that makes them amazing. A maxi dress covers so much – your granny undies, first-period-since-pregnancy- bloat, bruised legs from walking into stuff at night when you stumble to get your screaming baby… they even make long sleeved maxis to cover your arms.
If I could, I would own 100 maxi dresses… but I think my husband would have a problem with that credit card bill.
I had my eye on this dress for over a year. My sister wore it to her rehearsal dinner and I loved it from the moment I saw the crochet bodice. As soon as she announced she was pregnant, I laid claim on the dress for the next nine months. It’s no longer available online, but this is similar.
As stated in my other Simple Mom Outfit posts, I’m always looking for comfortable and stylish clothing that’s boob-proof/kid-proof/multi-functional. Since I’m breastfeeding Ailey 4-5 times a day, my dresses must have a nursing friendly top. There’s no way I’m pulling a giant skirted bottom over my baby’s head to feed her.
That’s why all Moms need a summer maxi dress.
