One of my favorite ways to get in the holiday spirit is to snuggle up with my family and watch one of my favorite Christmas movies. I’ve rounded up some of the Best Christmas Movies for you to watch this holiday season. Don’t worry, there are Christmas movies for all ages!
Christmas Movies for Families
Home Alone (1 and 2) – Follow Kevin McCallister on his crazy adventures of being alone during the holiday season. I’m a big fan of the first Home Alone, but my family loves the second! (Available on Disney + and Amazon Prime, and Apple TV)
The Santa Clause – Want to know how you can become Santa? Scott Calvin can show you firsthand what happens when you accidentally knock Santa off a roof. The Santa Clause is at the top of my favorites list for instilling the spirit and magic of Christmas in every viewer. (Available on Disney +, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV)
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – I watched this as a kid and didn’t understand some of the more adult humor until I was actually an adult. You may want to watch this and approve before you show the kids. (Available on Apple TV, AMC +, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Vudu)
Elf – Follow buddy the elf find his way through New York after leaving the North Pole to find his dad. On his way he ends up spreading some Christmas cheer for all to hear. (Available on Starz, AMC +, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and YouTube)
The Grinch (2018) – This updated version from the classic animated Grinch is so cute. It’s lighter and less “scary” than the past two and I definitely found myself laughing during this movie. (Available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV)
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas – The original cartoon of Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is a must-watch every year! (Available on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and YouTube)
Noelle– A cute quirky comedy that really doesn’t get enough credit! I watched it and fell involve with the story! (only on Disney +)
The Christmas Chronicles – This exciting movie that follows two children who find Santa and help him save Christmas was so cute (only on Netflix).
Eloise at Christmas Time – A cute family movie following adorable Eloise and her many adventures at the Plaza Hotel during Christmas. Who doesn’t love Christmas time in the city? (Available on XFinity or buy the DVD on Amazon)
I’ll Be Home For Christmas – One of my favorites for some reason – maybe it was a crush on JTT? A college student is bribed to go home for the holiday season, but finds himself stranded in the desert. Watch to see if he makes it home for Christmas on time! (Available on Disney +)

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation– If you have a large family and have hosted them for the holidays – you’ll get a kick out of this movie. (Available on Apple TV, AMC +, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Vudu)
Christmas with the Kranks– We’ve all wanted to escape the holiday rush just to go on vacation and relax. That’s exactly what Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis see the trouble they get themselves into with their whole neighborhood. (Available on Hulu, Vudu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and YouTube)
The Holiday – A love story set at Christmastime – this one isn’t for the kids!(Available on Hulu, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Vudu)
Die Hard – I have to include this movie because my husband says it’s one of his favorites… Santa isn’t in the action packed film, but it is set at Christmastime! (Available on Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, and Cinemax)
Trading Places – This is one of those “Die Hard” type movies where it isn’t about Christmas, but based during the holiday season. It’s an oldie but a goodie. (Available on Amazon Prime)
Bad Santa– This is not your average Christmas movie at all. If you want to switch it up for a darker humor holiday movie this is for you! (Available on YouTube, Google Play, Amazon Prime and Apple TV)
Scrooged– It’s the modern day adult version of “A Christmas Carol.”(Available on YouTube, Google Play, Amazon Prime and Vudu)
Love Actually – An emotional movie following couples stories throughout the holiday season. It has definitely become a classic for some, but bring the tissues. (Available on YouTube, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Apple TV)
Gremlins – Never feed one of these furry little friends after midnight. (Available on YouTube, Google Play, Amazon Prime)
