Even though Mr. H and I are still recovering from quite the crazy Bachelor/Bachelorette weekends, we have a full week of baseball games ahead of us. Tonight we are heading to Turner Field to see the Braves and Yankees ( losers)…then on Friday AND Saturday we are back at TF to see the Red Sox spank the Braves. Because the Red Sox are the best.Obviously I like the Braves – I live in Atlanta after all – and Mr. H likes the Braves because it was the first team he saw in person as a kid…and he lives in Atlanta.
Take Me Out To the Ball Game
As for the Red Sox -My long story short is that being from New England (CT to be specific), most children are raised loving either the Red Sox OR the Yankees -not both. I grew up going to Yankee Stadium with my fam, never really caring about baseball, just going for fun. However… around 2001 I started watching and actually liking baseball, and the team that I began to love was the RED SOX. Of course my family was not happy, but after my first trip to Fenway I came home with my Red Sox hat and my Yankees Suck t-shirt.
Mr. H started liking the Sox when they signed Pedro Martinez in 1998 and started loving the Sox when they picked up Manny Ramirez in 2001. The first time he ever came to visit me in CT after the cruise in 2003 was on his way back from Boston. Ever since we started dating we’ve gone to a bajillion Red Sox games – and Mr. H has been to BOTH World Series when the Red Sox won. I am also proud to say that we are on EA Sport’s MVP 2005 video game when we went to the Red Sox v Yankees ALCS game in 2004.
Here are some pictures from the Red Sox v Braves series in 2006 at Turner Field. We went to all three games and I remember it was the hottest weekend ever!
The last picture is from when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2007. Our love for the Sox is just one of the few things that we have in common of course. But it does make us the ‘baseball couple’ in our circle of friends. A lot of our friends have joined us at Fenway (or other parks to see the Sox), and up until last year, we would all head to Fenway for Mr. H’s May birthday. I’m happy to say some of my favorite memories have been at Red Sox games not just with Mr. H and I, but with all of our pals.

That’s too cute! At least you guys aren’t a ‘house divided’ couple 🙂 When I was at the Marlin/Yankee game, this guy wore his Boston shirt and ALL the Yankees gave him a hard time, ha!
BTW…check out my blog!!!!!!!!!!!!
