As a blogger who’s been writing since 2008, I find it hard to believe it’s taken me so long to gain the confidence to put myself out there. When I lived in Georgia, I was too intimidated by the blogger network to reach out to groups or attend events. I promised myself moving to CT I would be a different person. So, yesterday I attended my first blogger meet-up.
I was nervous, but excited to meet new people while shopping at a local boutique. Pearls & Plaid, an adorable shop in Old Saybrook, hosted the Sip and Shop. There was delicious food, fun cocktails, and so many items I wanted to buy… but I contained myself. My sisters and I will be making a trip back to Pearls & Plaid very soon.
What I loved the most about this meet-up is how laid back all of the girls in attendance were. The Connecticut Blogger Collective was started by fellow blogger, Nonee, from Nonee’s World. She is my new favorite person for organizing a group like this. They’ve had a few events in the past, but this is the first I could attend as a resident of CT. I look forward to the holiday gathering she said is in the works. I met quite a few fellow bloggers who were friendly and eager to chat about their businesses. It’s so important to have a network for support, especially when your new on the scene as I am here in Connecticut.
Those cocktails are just what a Momma needs when sneaking away from her kids for some sips and shopping!
Personalized goodie bags!
I snagged the vest right in the front – it is SO cozy and perfect for the New England winter.
While sipping the most scrumptious Black Pearl cocktail (who would’ve thought that combo was tasty?), I chatted with the owner of the boutique, Caroline. She is the sweetest and so amazing for allowing us to hang out at her place for the afternoon! Hopefully this is just the first of many blogger meet-ups with CT Blogger Babes. I’m so excited to be a part of a network of incredibly talented ladies!
