So let’s talk about shorts and heels. When I first put on a pair of wedges with my favorite jean shorts, I felt a little like Jessica Simpson circa 2004. But after walking around I realized it was all in my head – she wore super short daisy dukes and I don’t. The combination of wedges and jean shorts is flattering and adorable.

I really love how a wedge elongates your leg, especially when they’re paired with shorts. My favorite jean shorts are on sale at Old Navy right now for $13, but some readers have told me the 3 inch length is a bit too short for their Mom-liking. I totally agree – these are not the greatest length – but I have short legs myself, so these work. The most comfortable wedges I’ve ever owned are by TOMS – this pair is from two summers ago, so here is a similar pair and another pair I love. They are BOTH on sale! I have two pairs of TOMS Desert Wedges that I wear during the cooler months and they are just as comfy. I don’t know what it is about TOMS wedges, but I could literally go for a run in them without breaking an ankle. This is a HUGE plus when children are involved.

A basic white tee with denim cut off shorts and wedges can go a long way when paired with the right accessories. Whether you choose to place emphasis on your handbag or jewelry, it’s easy to dress up or down your outfit for the occasion. I’m obsessed with these Emma Tops from a local boutique here in Georgia because they’re lightweight, stretchy, soft, and perfect for layering. Love this post! I’ve got really long legs, so I was always hesitant to wear wedges with shorts until last year. I wear 4-5″ shorts usually and I LOVE the look of simple wedges with them. It really makes me feel a little more dressed up. I literally just took photos for my blog yesterday with some shorts and wedges. I’ve bookmarked this post to link back to when I post my own.
