There has never been a truer shirt than the one my best friend bought me for my 31st birthday this year. It’s no surprise to anyone who has kids that Mommin’ Ain’t Easy – it’s pretty much the hardest job out there. Every day it’s something new with my girls and lately I’ve had about all the excitement I can take for awhile.
So when mommin’ really ain’t easy and I don’t have time to get dressed – my go-to simple outfit is a basic t-shirt and jean shorts.
Last week Ailey had an allergic reaction to her first (and last) bite of hummus. She went into anaphylactic shock over the course of about 30 minutes, coughing, crying, hives, vomiting, the works. I’ve thanked God over and over again that the episode was not any worse than it was, especially since I didn’t even really know what was going on until it was all said and done. We’ve since been to the allergist and had testing done to learn that Ailey is allergic to sesame (seed/oil) and chickpeas. We will carry an Epi-Pen with us where ever we may go incase she ingests either, or has a reaction to something else.
Aside from the scary allergy stuff, Annabelle has been working on her tantrum scale. I’m talking, 0 to 1000 real quick. I’m hoping its all just a phase because her temper is totally unacceptable, unreasonable, and scary. Her favorite time to lose her mind has been before bed, so Mommy and Daddy’s nights have been dramatic and exhausting. I fall into bed early knowing that I will be up a lot with Ailey these days.
So when mommin’ really ain’t easy and I don’t have time to get dressed – my go-to simple outfit is a basic t-shirt and jean shorts. You know jorts? Yah, that’s one of those articles of clothing I said I wouldn’t wear once they stopped selling jean shorts of an acceptable length. But, lo and behold, here I am wearing a pair of Old Navy cutoffs every single day this week. They’re comfortable, quick to throw on, and no one can tell they haven’t been washed in awhile. That’s the best things about jeans isn’t it?

That is so scary! I’m glad she’s OK.
Those shorts look comfy! I’d wish for a little more length for myself, though. I hate shorts.

Our one year old is allergic to multiple foods and we carry an epi pen, as well as children’s Benadryl with us (your pedi or allergist can give you the dosage based on Ailey’s weight) at all times. So glad she’s ok! It’s s scary thing to go through for sure!!
