We were very fortunate that our pastor’s wife was a wedding coordinator when we found out how much it would have cost to hire someone separately for the rehearsal and the wedding day. Betty Taylor was so sweet and on top of everything! Dr. Ken and Betty actually hung out with me while Analea finished my hair and they were very adament that we make the ceremony rehearsal short b/c I was sick and did not need to be outside on the cold windy beach very long.
Someone captured Mr. Bear walking down to the beach with his best man.
It was sort of a big mess- everyone gathered on the boardwalk – freezing – all dressed for dinner – and waiting very impatiently for some stragglers to arrive.
While everyone else waited for some groomsmen (oops I mean stragglers), my dad and I practiced the difficult ‘hand-off’ of me to my groom. Talk about a big pain in the patoot – who knew handing the bride to the groom would have so many steps!
Noah and Celeina – Mr. Bear’s dad and stepmom
Dad and Momma… I really liked that my dad walked my mother to her seat. I think that it calmed her nerves a little bit to walk with him on the big day.
Jeff and Samantha (Mr. Bear’s college friend and my cousin)
Rockoff and GF (Mr. Bear’s college friend and my bff from high school)
Sam and Andrea (college friends)
Bryan and Kimberly (Mr. Bear’s brother and my cousin)
Dale and Tine (Mr. Bear’s friend since HS and my ‘sister’)
Lizzie (my sister and the bestest maid of honor)
Hannah and Aly (Mr. Bear’s cousins and our flower girls)
Finn and Ian (my nephews were cutest ring bearers ever)
My Daddy and me (he told me to make sure I made him laugh so he didn’t cry)
Notice my pjs… Mr. Bear and I decided not to get dressed for dinner until after the rehearsal… I think that all of our wedding party was a tad jealous of my warm sweats.
View from the boardwalk…the groomsmen were quite the chatty bunch during our rehearsal. Unfortunately I didn’t have a voice so I could kindly tell them to SHUSH!
Right after the infamous handoff…
Mr. Bear and I had to practice taking the rings from Dr. Ken because he was worried we’d drop them in the sand. When we practiced repeating our vows, everyone laughed at my gremlin voice. Dr. Ken said that if I still couldn’t talk at the ceremony, I could whisper to Mr. Bear. He was the only one who needed to hear me talk!
Pretending to be Mr. and Mrs. Bear! We practically ran back to the Inn!
Now it was time to go finish getting ready for the rehearsal dinner! Stay tuned…
