A real meal in the new kitchen

Then we went grocery shopping, did some laundry, and settled in for a yummy dinner together. That night I cooked one of my dad’s favorite dishes: Linguini with Clam Sauce. Mr. Bear has had it before, but it was cooked by my Momma while we were in Cape Cod last summer, not me. I used my mom’s secret recipe, threw in some shrimp, cream, a few special spices, and white wine, roasted a bunch of asparagus, and drizzled olive oil over crusty bread. It was Ah-Maz-ing.

On Sunday morning we did our own things: Me = lesson planning; Hubsby = gymtime. Then we headed to yucky Walmart (I hate that place), Lowes, and Target. We finally purchased an electric drill (!!!), closet rods, a shelf, and some furniture (a cube organizer – pics to come – and a bookcase). Then we spent the evening putting stuff together and hanging pictures. I finally feel like things are coming together! I am so proud of myself for putting this bad boy together – the items on the shelf aren’t permanent, for Mr. Bear is the “tacky police” and will be rearranging my work. Without further ado, here is my bookcase:

It took me over an hour to put together… Mr. Bear had to help because the bookcase is TALLER than me. We bought it at Target for $30 and I am tempted to go back to get another for our office upstairs. Except for the time and frustration felt while putting it together, it was a great deal!
