Enjoy my latest installment of Random Things: April 2024. From random things on my mind to what I’m up to, reading, or watching, here is a peak into my life.
7 Random Things on My Mind – April 2023
- I’m going on a girls getaway this weekend with my best friend! It’s The first trip of what we hope to become an annual tradition – just the two of us meeting up to explore somewhere new. She lives in NC and we usually only see each other once a year if we are lucky.
- Easter has come and gone – it is always weird when it is in March and not April.
- My nails never grow long. However, six weeks ago I started seeing an old friend who does nails on the side with the hope she could revive them after a tragic gel manicure. The progress is wild – not only are they long, but also strong! And look incredible.
- Dance competition season has begun and I just love it so much! The costumes, the makeup, the hair – seriously, I enjoy even the stressful hair bun. It’s uninterrupted quality time with my oldest daughters where I get to see them transform on stage into confident little dancers.
- Last month the girls started swim lessons and I enjoy to watch their progress. Annabelle is learning the freestyle while Ailey masters swimming underwater. And Arbor – she just enjoys being in the water!
- I still can’t believe I met Olympia Gayot, the Creative Director of J.Crew! When I was invited to attend a private event for cocktails/conversations with Olympia I thought it was a fake email (it happens) – but it turned out to be a very real ‘pinch me’ moment.
- Annabelle participated in our local Invention Convention with a Tight Care Kit (such a genius idea for dancers!). We were so proud of her – especially when the Mayor came to learn more about her invention.
What’s in My Cart – April 2024
I did a little shopping for some random things, like makeup by Merit. It’s is a new-to-me brand I keep seeing on social media, so I finally tried it out. So far, I like it a lot! My monthly Sezane order arrived with my go-to Malcom t-shirt, the Farrow Bag in smooth blue, and the Le Crop in Ecru.
J.Crew is my other top store and I picked a few pieces from J.Crew’s new spring arrivals (now 40% off!) to make an outfit to wear to the event. I’ve never owned trouser pants or a vest because I felt like they weren’t “me” – but wow, I’m a huge fan! I also bought a white blazer – another item I always wanted to try- but may return it this week before my trip for it in navy or something else.
Note: As a Sezane partner I received a note to shop once a month in exchange for my reviews – but I always spend my own money too! Sezane has become one of my favorite stores for classic, high quality, easy to wear items that I know will be timeless additions to my wardrobe. Check out how I style the Le Crop jeans here.
Random Things I’m Watching/Reading
- Watching “The O.C.” – I am rewatching it on Amazon Prime because I recall the beginning and end of the series, but nothing that happens in-between.
- Watched “Anyone But You” – I enjoyed this rom-com! The previews almost made it seem like it would be corny but I didn’t find it cringe at all.
- Reading nothing – I have a stack of books from the library and any moment I think, “I’ll sit down to read” I either fall asleep or get called away to do something. I hope to actually read on my flight this weekend!
