I saw Kaitlin do this Slice of Me Sunday and I wanted to play along… except today is Wednesday so um.. I am calling it A Piece of Me. The questions for Slice of Me come from MannLand5’s getting to know you blog hop.
1. Why did you start blogging?
After I got engaged I started looking for advice and wedding ideas on the internet. Somehow I stumbled across a wedding blog… which led me to about 40 other wedding blogs… and decided that I had to start my own! What was going to be a blog all about my wedding turned into an online diary of sorts. I don’t really have a focus for my blog anymore – and that is okay. =0)
2. Who’s the one blog friend that you would want to meet the most in “real life”?
Obviously I’d love to meet Miss Kriss aka Dawn aka one of the most super awesome blogger bffs I’ve ever known – well through emails and shtuff. I think we would have the greatest time together – she would teach me all about fashion and I would teach her how to cook. Then we would exchange favorite drink recipes. And go out on the town. And no one would stop us because we know how to scare people.
3. Why are you always concerned with losing that “extra 10 pounds” when chances are you husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
I know Mr. Bear will love me forever no matter what I look like. I honestly feel better about myself when I am not carrying any extra junk in the trunk or love on the side. I like when my clothes fit the same way every day and being able to wear things I’ve had for years. PLUS, I enjoy being healthy – working out and eating right.
4. What’s the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
The only guy I care about is Mr. Bear (and my dad, brother, nephews, cousins, uncles, grandpas, male in-laws, of course, but I don’t think that is what the question is about). The only person who I am concerned about what they think of me is Mr. Bear…and I think after six years together he finally understands me. He knows what makes me mad, knows what makes me sad, and knows how to always make me laugh.
5. Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your “everyday” clothes?
Nada.
6. What was the best year of your life and why?
Um… I can’t say that a certain year (Jan-Dec) has been the best… but my first year as a married woman has been pretty awesome so far. We had the greatest wedding of all time, gathered all of our loved ones in ONE place for the first (and hopefully not only) time to celebrate, moved to a new state into a big gorgeous apartment, we both got new jobs that we love (or rather I am going to love), we went on an incredible honeymoon to Hawaii, spent Christmas together for the first time and with both of our families… And from now until Oct we have lots more to look forward to! We will celebrate six months of married life on April 17th with a delicious seafood dinner on the harbor in Baltimore, we will be going to San Francisco in April too – Napa Valley here we come! We are spending a week in Cape Cod with my family in August. We are going to lots of baseball games at Camden Yards (yah for 3 Red Sox v Orioles games). We are taking trips to visit Mr. Bear’s family in Atlanta & Tennessee. And much much more.
7. Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
Sit in a recliner, drink a lot of beer, and watch tv for hours with my guy friends. Go to an all-you-can-eat China buffet for lunch and have my friends roll me out after I’ve gorged myself. Shave my face… I think that it would feel weird.
8. What’s your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
I don’t really drink anything out of the ordinary these days. When I was in college I could throw back a bottle of whiskey like one of the guys… and I used to be able to drink tequila like it was water my freshman year of college. People were always surprised that a small bear like me could handle my liquor. Nowadays… well I can’t do either anymore!
