We’ve been keeping a secret for quite some time and I want to share our big news with you all. But first, I’m not pregnant.
There is no way we would want to have another baby now as Ailey is enough work for three babies. Not to mention that our lives have been turned upside down over the last couple of months and a pregnancy would be way too much chaos.
SO… what’s the big news?
Well, I’m finally going to answer a question I’ve been asked about 100 times.
Since we sold our house, I had no idea where we were going to end up. We’ve looked at around 40 houses, in multiple states (we still don’t have one). I can now narrow it down to possibilities in just 1-2 towns because we have officially declared a new state our home.
Our Big News: We Moved to Connecticut
Now don’t go thinking I’ve been lying to anyone. I’ve been asked by more than a few people if my presence in the Nutmeg State was permanent. Truthfully it’s all been temporary. My parents have been kind enough to let the girls and I stay at their house while we figured out our future. And my parents’ house is where we shall all stay until we buy a new home.
My dream of living close to my family is finally coming true at what is quite possibly the best time ever. My sister just had a baby, my other sister just got married, my brother’s kids haven’t disappeared into college yet, and our girls have yet to start real school. These people below… they are beyond thrilled to have us all here too (I think, haha).
It’s been a long hard couple of months on all of us being apart from Brandon. I bet you can imagine how overjoyed we feel knowing it’s all in our past. Our big guy will be up here next week and I can’t wait to throw my arms around his neck knowing I won’t have to say, “See ya in a couple of weeks” ever again.
What will happen to Confessions of a Northern Belle?
It’s been 12 years since I moved to the South and as you all know, my blog has been shaped by my residence in Tennessee/Georgia. However, our big move won’t effect anything. It will only improve my content and has already opened more doors to me than I ever thought imaginable. I’m so excited for our future!

So interested in relocating nuts and bolts. We live across the country from family and change our minds daily on whether to move closer or stay put. Like you we have two small kids we’d love to grow up closer to family, but the details of a big move are so overwhelming- where to go, how to pack, what if we think we made a mistake?! I found your blog during my first pregnancy when you were pregnant with Annabelle. I appreciate your humor about motherhood and would love to hear about how you guys handled the moving process. Congratulations!
