This November 2025 life update is full of change, chaos, and cozy moments — from starting a new job and sending three daughters off to school, to celebrating fall traditions and a few unforgettable firsts. If you missed my October update (or the reason there wasn’t one), you can catch up here before diving in!
Life Lately / November 2025
A lot has happened since my last life update in September. Don’t you think a list of big moments would be easier than long paragraph explanations?
1. Tate Mcrae
After failing to secure Sabrina Carpenter tickets last spring, we (the Dance Moms) scored box seats to Tate Mcrae in Boston – and surprised our daughters with the most epic first concert experience. We all had a blast! The concert was OUTSTANDING – Tate is quite the performer being an OG SYTYCD contestant. The only caveat – the concert was more PG-13 than anyone expected and there were a lot of fun questions afterwards – like, how did she learn to swing around a pole like that?

2. Halloween Events
What happened to just one night of trick-or-treating? We celebrated Halloween all month long. From two school trunk or treats to the town’s Goblin Gathering to a preschool parade and finally – the big night of October 31st – Halloween had it’s shining moment in the Houston household. There is more candy stashed around my house than anyone needs (and if I can find a place to donate half of it it’s happening).

3. Fall Traditions
Some of our favorite fall traditions are the LZP Scarecrow Festival and carving the family pumpkin. Last year we added in a long weekend to Cape Cod – and were thrilled to do the same over Columbus Day weekend. We stayed in a GORGEOUS home on the beach in Eastham and were thrilled to host our friends for a few nights.

4. Cross Country Meets
Annabelle joined her middle school Cross Country team this year with the hopes of making some new friends and moving her body afterschool. Not only did she get to hang out with a new group of girls, but she also learned she loved running. And she is really good at it! I truly enjoyed watching every one of her meets – even State Championships – and cheering on my little sloth turned speedracer. Who would have ever thought the little girl begging to be goalie at soccer so she didn’t have to run would be begging to hit a 2 mile trail?

5. A Few More Bits of Life
I am having so much fun getting dressed for work wearing items I’ve not put on in years. Sometimes I share my outfits here. // Brandon and Arbor found this snowman for FREE on the side of the road. He is going to be a great addition to our outdoor holiday decor. // I somehow found a way to squeeze in time for fall and holiday mini sessions. If my laptop wasn’t so slow when it comes to editing I think I could offer more than I do right now. // MARYANN, my beloved childhood stuffed moose, has been found after 5 years. She is the ultimate comfort stuffie and I found her right before my cousin passed away.

What I’ve Been Reading
My reading streak hit an all time low since September. Between office days, the podcast, being a Mom, driving to/from cross country, dance classes, finding time for hot yoga, and maintaining the house – I usually fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. Things are finally becoming more routine so I hope to get back to reading the stack of books on my bedside table again.
- Fearless by Lauren Roberts – I finally picked up the last book in the Powerless Trilogy from the library, but I am going to accrue overdue fines if I don’t finish it soon.
- Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard – I’m slowly listening to book 2 in The Red Queen series. It is your typical magic low class/high class drama, but easy to follow and entertaining enough.
What’s Coming Up…
This past weekend we slowly started decorating our house for Christmas. Every room is transformed, so it can take us weeks to deck the halls. I’m excited to slow down this holiday season since the first two months of my favorite four were so chaotic.
November has been full in the best kind of way, and I’m grateful for every messy, magical moment. Here’s to a slow, cozy start to the holiday season — and maybe a little extra time to read again.
