The best season to visit Cape Cod is any season. If you’re planning a trip to Cape Cod outside of the summer, here is how to enjoy Cape Cod during the off season while staying in a beautiful Del Mar property.
Enjoying Cape Cod During the Off Season
Our family snuck away for a few days to stay in a gorgeous home on Cape Cod in October. I love Cape Cod any time of the year, but the off-season is truly something special. Cape Cod quiets down after the summer crowds disappear – which is when I feel like you can truly experience the magic of this special corner of Massachusetts.
Is Cape Cod worth visiting in the Fall? Cape Cod is undeniably worth visiting in the Fall, as the region transforms into a stunning tapestry of vibrant autumn colors, offering picturesque landscapes that entice nature lovers and photographers alike. With fewer crowds, visitors can enjoy the serene beaches, charming seaside towns, and delicious seasonal cuisine, making it an ideal time for leisurely strolls, scenic drives, and outdoor activities like hiking. Additionally, various fall events and festivals showcase local culture, providing unique experiences that enrich your stay.
The Best Cape Cod Vacation Rentals by Del Mar Vacations
It can feel overwhelming to book a vacation rental home when there is so much that goes into staying in a rented property. Thankfully Del Mar Vacations is the best of the best when it comes to renting a property in Cape Cod. From start to finish, the Del Mar team pays attention to every detail necessary for booking a Cape Cod vacation rental.
We spent three glorious nights in the Decked Out Oyster in Chatham. From first glance, the gray clapboard Cape looks quaint and cozy for my family of five, plus one. However, upon entrance guests will see the home is extremely spacious. We discovered a generously sized kitchen, multiple living areas, five roomy bedrooms, three bathrooms, and three decks. The coastal inspired decor, luxury amenities, and coastal views make you feel like you are staying in the ultimate Cape Cod home.
It’s so easy to access the website and search for a home for your next Cape Cod getaway. Filters allow you to narrow down a number of stunning properties based on location, number of beds, amenities, etc.. Whether it’s a 2 bedroom waterfront bungalow in Chatham or a sprawling Harwich home with pool, Del Mar Vacations has the best collection of Cape Cod rentals.
Have you ever had access to an App with check-in instructions, a picture “How To” guide for the home and activity recommendations for your vacation rental? What about keyless entry, linens and towels, and a 24/7 emergency line? Del Mar Vacations covers everything for a seamless Cape Cod getaway.

Pumpkin People in the Park in Chatham
Visiting Chatham in October? You must check out the Pumpkin People in the Park! It is a Chatham community tradition during the fall. The creative and innovative Pumpkin People are an art display fashioned by local businesses and families in Kate Gould Park on Main Street. We visited the display twice during our stay as the town was slowly adding their pumpkin people in anticipation for a fall festival over the weekend.
