To give you a little break from the wedding weekend recap, I thought I’d tell you all about the Bears’ wonderful weekend (plus I haven’t done a plain old weekend update in a long time).
Friday: I went to the office park gym during lunch because for some reason I thought cocktails on a Thursday were okay. Getting a little cardio in mid-day is such a great idea because I left work at 5pm with so much energy! I headed to the grocery store to pick up ingredients for a new recipe for bruschetta I came up with. I’ll feature that this week when I upload a picture! After Mr. Bear came home, I whipped up the bruschetta, took a shower, and we headed to our friends J & S, a.k.a. the Future R’s, place for a celebratory dinner! Jess is my good friend at work who loves to run and recently got engaged. (She started a blog to document her training for a marathon, but now that she is engaged I told her she needs to add ‘wedding planning’ to her description). Here are some cruddy iphone pics of the evening!

A gift from the Rs to the Bears? Jess and S are so sweet! They surprised us with a big beautiful box filled the ceramic bathroom accessories we registered for at Macy’s! Yayyyyy!
What a spread! Steak, mushrooms, shrimp kabobs, mashed potatoes, asparagus, bruschetta, mixed olives, and bread!
After dinner Jess and I played dress up in her closet. They are having Brandon and Susan of AddilayPhotography take their engagement pictures later this month and we needed to accessorize Jess’s outfits for the shoot. While we were having a fashion show, the boys played NCAA football together. Overall it was a great night and we can’t wait to host the R’s at our place sometime soon!
Saturday & Sunday: The Bears headed to our in-laws for the rest of the weekend. (Brandon’s dad and stepmom live about 45 minutes away in Gainesville, GA). We decorated the house for Christmas, watched A LOT of football, ate some yummy food, and finally talked about the wedding together. We hadn’t seen his parents since they dropped off our luggage at the Henderson Inn the day after our wedding! It was so wonderful to chat with them about their favorite parts of the weekend, as well as some of the moments that Mr. Bear and I missed while we were caught up in wedded bliss. They told us that, along with the rest of the family, it was a very memorable and special weekend no one will forget. =0)
I don’t know if you think it is too early to decorate for Christmas, but my stepmother-in-law and I certainly DO NOT!
One of five Christmas trees!
My favorite red, white, and gold tree.
Mr. Bear and I were storing our winter clothes and Christmas decorations in his parent’s attic so our trip to Gainesville was not just for visiting! This week we are going to FINALLY clean our apartment and decorate for Christmas! Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to turn our place into a Winter Wonderland this year. =0(
If you know me than you know that not living in a Christmas-y magical wonderland for the next two months is uncalled for. I am very very veryyyy sad, but Mr. Bear and I are moving January 6th … and I wish I could tell you where we are going, as well as some other important news, but I can not discuss anything for atleast a few more weeks.
Anyways, if our tree is up by Friday, I will surely post all about it =0)
I hope everyone had a spectacular weekend!
Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend!

Never too earlier to start Christmas shopping or listening to Christmas music. As long as Halloween has passed, you’re all good to put up Christmas decor! 🙂 Good luck with moving!!

I am going to hold off on my Christmas decorating until Thanksgiving althought I must admit I’m getting anxious!
