Sharing a little life lately update with what we have been doing in April 2024 and what will be up to in May on Caitlin Houston Blog.
Life Lately – April 2024
Well here we are, it’s the second week of May and I forgot to write a Life Lately for April. This post will share a recap of April 2024, but also feature a bit of what’s to come in May.
We had a very busy April starting with my solo adventure to North Carolina. My best friend and I are starting a new tradition of taking a girls trip somewhere new every year. We don’t live close by and rarely see one another without family in tow. I had the most amazing 48 hours away with Melissa. There is nothing better than reminiscing about your youth with a best friend and exploring a new place.

When I returned home refreshed, we had a low key spring break before April became busy. The calendar featured dance studio picture day, school Daddy/Daughter dance, a very exciting Hartford Yard Goats game and dance competition. My oldest was awarded a youth community service award at Town Hall one evening. I had my first mammogram (more on that another day). I also took the train to NYC to meet my friends from Kizik to celebrate their new pop-up store. While in the city I stopped into one of my favorite brand’s storefront: Sezane. Fun fact: Sezane sells perfume in-store that smells heavenly.

What’s Coming Up – May 2024
May is always a month where I feel a lot of feelings – usually some anxiety as we creep closer to the end of the school year. While the girls finish up extracurriculars and dance class, we anticipate the big dance recital. I finalize plans for summer vacations and summer camp. After school hours are spent outside and weekends are enjoyed chasing the sunshine. There is Mother’s Day and three birthdays: my sister, brother in law, and Brandon (it’s a big one this year!). May always seems to fly by, but this year has been my year to slow things down.
Today I am going to the studio to record two NEW podcast episodes and later this month we will meet to record two more. One of our hosts, Kallie, is pregnant with her fourth child so we are hoping to record as much as we can before baby arrives in the early fall. I love recording days – it is always an exhilarating reunion. If I haven’t said it enough already, I feel so privileged to work with three of the most creative and hilarious women in Connecticut.
Until next time…
