Since I did this
I have not gotten a new one of these
Today I am heading to the post office to find out how to get this baby changed to say Mrs. H instead of lil Miss R. I am pretty sure I am going to have to expedite the process since our little spring break trip is now less than 40 days away. I honestly never changed my name on my passport because sometimes I needed to use it to fly under my maiden name and earn skymiles.
Have you ever changed your name on your passport?!
If so… what did you have to do to get it done?

No name changing yet for me! I hope you don’t have to wait too long…I hate waiting for a new passport! Did you say spring break?! WHooo hoooo!!

I’m not changing my name until after we get back from our honeymoon since there is only a week and a half between the wedding and when we leave. Can’t wait to check back and see people’s tips.

I spoke with the post office and they said that I would need to get a NEW passport altogether – that means I have to pay for a new passport + processing charges + take a new picture. THEN I have to fill out some forms and mail it to the passport peoples. It sucks….
Thankfully I have found a way around it for our trip…..

Ummmm….I don’t have a passport and I’ve never had to change my name! But, I have a question. We are going to Mexico on our honeymoon, so I need to get a passport. BUT, I will go one place and need a new one because of the old name change….is there any way around this annoyingness, that you know of?

I put off changing my name on my passport for over a year and a half. I finally got it together and changed it when we booked flights to Italy a month ago. If we didn’t have a trip planned I probably never would have done it! Good luck getting yours changed!
