One of the coolest things about today is that it marks 5 years to the day since B proposed to me in Cape Cod. Time sure flies when you’re having fun with the one you love.
Brandon and I are headed to East Tennessee for his brother’s wedding weekend festivities today. Tonight is the rehearsal dinner/party, tomorrow is the wedding, and Sunday…well I don’t know what we are doing Sunday. What I do know is that I am looking forward to celebrating all weekend long!
Five Years Engaged
You can read all of the details about how we got engaged here.
I know an engagement-iversary is not something that people normally celebrate – unless it is your first before your wedding – but I felt since it’s been 5 years, I had to acknowledge this special day.
I will never forget how I felt when B spun me around on the beach, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife. I was so surprised, so overjoyed, and so so happy. Walking up to the restaurant to tell my family the news felt like a dream. I was in such a state of bliss that I didn’t notice the clouds turning dark and the rumble of thunder over the water.
After we told my parents the news, we headed to the outdoor bar at The Beachcomber for celebratory drinks. Little did we know that there was about to be a brief thunderstorm that would produce quite a bit of hail mixed in with the rain.
Hail on the beach in the middle of August?
Knowing that my Grandma Mary’s ashes are spread in Cape Cod – we all became teary eyed thinking she was sending her blessing from above.
On October 17th, B and I will celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. We will be in our new house and probably toasting with water – since our first baby is on the way. Five years ago I never could have imagined I’d be living such a wonderful life.
I love you more than all the stars in the sky.

Wow where does the time go? I so remember that day/night and what a great time we had after I found out why you disappeared on the beach for so long. And who can forget that hail storm, LOL..to think this brought us a great son in law B and now a soon to be new granddaughter. So happy for you and he and of course Dad and I for a new grand baby. Love you both!!
