I’m 22 weeks pregnant and sharing everything from symptoms to weight gain to pregnancy cravings. Enjoy Caitlin Houston’s 22 week bump update.
How far along are you? 22 Weeks…confused? Read about it here.
How I’m feeling: Exercise has been working wonders for me! I have more energy, I have been eating more, and I am sleeping almost all through the night. I’ve had some growing pains, but I am excited about those. It means Baby A is getting bigger.
Total weight gain: 10-11 lbs. I am hoping some of this is muscle.
Cool Baby Facts: Baby A weights 1 pound on Monday. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct and she is developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. We saw her pursing those cute lips last ultrasound.
How big is baby? 11-12 inches and 1 pound. She is about the size of a spaghetti squash or a papaya.
Sleep: The only thing waking me up is needing to use the bathroom 1-2 times a night!
Maternity Clothes: Two tunics from Target, two pairs of jeans and 2 shirts from Old Navy. I also ordered a pair of leggings and four tops from Motherhood Maternity that should be here today.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing Baby A at our ultrasound on Monday, hearing that she is going to be okay even though she is a little small, and feeling her kick.
Movement: Baby A is quite the little dancer. She moves and grooves all around my belly! We can see her from the outside now and sending videos to my family and friends (which has been so exciting). My sister wants to make her a canvas for her nursery that says something like this: “Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand, And now she’s in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand”
Food cravings: Cheese calzones, Airhead Bites, Smores’ Bars, Cupcakes ….Pumpkin Spice Lattes… thank goodness I’m exercising.
Food aversions: Chicken again – only if I have to cook it or think about it or see it. If it is hidden in something (like a Lenny’s Chicken Salad Sandwich) I am okay. But after a bad grilled chicken from Zaxby’s, I am back to gagging.
Belly button in or out: It is getting wider and when I touch it, it feels squishy.
What I miss: A bra that fits.
What I’m looking forward to: Decorating Baby A’s nursery and revealing her name to everyone!
Randoms: It is official – my body is ready to breastfeed. The doctor says its strange I’ve started producing colostrum so early, but it’s not a bad thing. Also, my hair is not as luscious and thick as the books say it should be. It is falling out as much as it always has, and it hasn’t grown at all!

My hair was beautiful when I was pregnant but about two months after giving birth it started falling out by at an alarming rate. There are so many great things about being pregnant, my body has never been happier then when I was carrying my child.

Hahaha,a bra that fits would be awesome. I actually broke my bra last night!!! I guess these girls just got way to big! Underwire just burst right through! The not so fun things no one really tells you, lol. You look great.

I just bought my first pair of leggings at MM yesterday and I love them. I bought an ankle length pair and a shorter pair because I pretty much want to wear them at work all winter. I’m actually wearing them today since the temp dropped and all of my warm clothes are packed away. I have the tummy section folded down, but they are definitely comfy!!

Girl my boobs leaked really early too haha!

My favorite part was when I finally reached the point to where I could see her moving, instead of just feeling her. Now I can lay there and just watch my belly dance around. My husband and I thought it was the coolest thing. Even cooler was when she started responding to music. Just about every time my husband plays his guitar and sings, she will move until he stops. So excited for you!
