Friday has arrived and I’m trying to figure out how for once, she got here so fast. I have a lot to do this weekend (a BIG interview, blogging, grocery shopping) and feel like Monday will be here before I know it. There won’t be a lot of relaxing done, not like last weekend in Vermont. I shall try to enjoy the time with my family though! Enjoy my Friday Favorites.
one. Turtle Fur.
There’s nothing that I love more than a semi-local small business who RULES as much as Turtle Fur. They sent us over all the necessary items for playing in the snow – hats, neck warmers, a fancy neck warmer/hat combination that Ailey wants to live in, plus so much more. I have a big post coming with them about keeping your little ones warm in the cold weather (that just doesn’t want to leave). Keep your eyes peeled for it!
two. SNOW.
I know, I know… everyone who has been seeing the snow from the last two Nor’easter’s is shaking their head at me for this, but I LOVE SNOW. A natural beauty, a work of Mother Nature and God themselves, snow is one of the most magical events that can occur in a lifetime. (At least that’s how we feel over here)
three. SPRING CLEANING.
Just because it doesn’t look or feel like spring outside, it doesn’t mean I can’t be bit by the spring cleaning bug. Since we are still living with my parents and there isn’t any room for all our stuff, I went crazy this week de-cluttering and organizing the girls’ stuff. What you see above is everything I pulled from the corner of the bedroom. Sad huh?
I went through all of the girls’ toys and put the stuff I haven’t seen them touch in a giant container in the basement. Then I organized all of their toy sets into freezer sized bags and explained they must return the pieces to the bags or Mommy will put all their stuff in the basement.
Who doesn’t love an old Target bookcase? We used to have these all over our house in Georgia because they’re easy to put together, look nice, and inexpensive. I’m glad we saved this one for the girls’ toys and books.
Annabelle asked her Nana for a toy chest with her name on it to store all of her dress-up clothes. My sister painted the front, my brother-in-laws put it together, and we hit it under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. The toy chest has been sitting in the living room where the tree stood because we didn’t have a place for it in our bedroom. Now that the Monster of Toys is gone, Annabelle’s toy chest has a place to live. It holds ALL of their favorite toys and we put the dress up clothes in a bag behind the toy chest.
four. spring shoes.
I’m on a hunt for some everyday spring/summer shoes. I’ve worn the same Tory Burch Millers and Jack Rogers for the last three years that need a break. I also own a couple pairs of TOMS, but now is the time to add a few new shoes to the rotation. You can see more of my spring style picks here.

I agree, I do like snow when I have nowhere to go, but HATE it when it screws up my plans! Luckily this week I was able to just enjoy it because I ddn’t have appointments (and we were lucky and didn’t lose power)

It was a very good snowman snow – nice to see it being enjoyed! I haven’t played in the snow in a very long time. I love the j.crew flats and the spotted DV espadrilles. I don’t need any new shoes, but they are always so darn tempting!
