DIY Photo Gifts for Christmas

Since we are in the process of buying a new home, this holiday season we are all about homemade Christmas gifts for family and friends. I have been taking photos of my daughters for months and thought it would be fun to put together a little scrapbook for the Grandparents. With the HP ENVY Photo 6252 All-in-One, I can create gifts right in my own house during nap time. The printer is quiet, so my toddler won’t wake up while I’m playing Elf in my own little workshop.

My MIL loves to change out the photos in her frames with each season, so I created seasonal inserts for an 8″ x 10″ frame using card stock, glossy photo paper, and my HP ENVY printer. Other supplies you’ll need: scissors, a computer, and any photo editing program with the ability to insert clip art.

Step 1

Choose the photos you are going to use for each season. Print them out using your HP ENVY printer and 4 x 6 glossy photo paper.

Step 2

Create backgrounds for your photos using any free photo editing program online. I have included seasonal photo templates you can save to your computer just by right clicking. Print the backgrounds onto 8.5 x 11 card stock. Use scissors to trim the card stock to fit into your 8 x 10 frame.

 

Step 3

Place your favorite seasonal photo background in an 8 x 10 frame. Tape your photos onto the background and assemble the frame. Wrap and gift to your family and friends.
