Annual Fourth of July Family Vacation in Destin, FL

One of the ways we celebrate Fourth of July is in Destin, FL with my husband’s family. Here is a look at our annual Fourth of July Houston Family vacation.

Today we are headed down to Destin for our annual Fourth of July Houston family vacation. This will be Annabelle’s first time at the beach with the crew, but her second time to her Great Grandpoppy and Mammy’s condo. In addition to everything we brought for Annabelle on our last trip, we are bringing along a blow up pool for the play in on the beach and a shaded float for the pool.We are also using Aveeno sunscreen on Annabelle since she develops a rash to the others we tried.

We’ve been going to Destin on vacation together since 2005. The first time I went was with B and about 7 of his friends. The first Fourth of July we spent together in Destin was back in 2006. B and I were dating and stayed at the Hilton with his Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and their twins. B’s Grandparents bought the most beautiful condo right on the beach in 2011, so we’ve made it a point to spend every Fourth there since then.

Last summer we announced we were having a GIRL on the Fourth of July with a Gender Reveal Party. It rained practically our whole week in Florida, so the party was a nice pick-me-up for everyone who was going stir crazy in the condo.

Here’s to a fantastic week with family and Annabelle’s first Fourth. Her Noni bought her the most adorable dress for the holiday and I can’t wait to see her in it. I will be blogging here and there while I am gone, so no worries on me disappearing for awhile. On another note – I am not too sure if Annabelle will see the fireworks on the beach on Friday – but I do know I am worried the noise will scare her!
