Thank you to Frootie Tootie’s in Southington, CT for hosting Annabelle’s 6th birthday party.
What is more magical than making your own stuffed unicorn in a candy shop? It can be difficult to have a winter birthday when you’re a child, which is why Annabelle’s birthday parties have always been in our home. This year Annabelle wanted to do something fun and unique for her 6th birthday. We are so excited to have found an indoor birthday party venue with so much to offer.
What is Frootie Tootie’s?
Frootie Tootie’s Candy & More is a three-in-one shop with a party room, old-fashioned candy store, and a bookstore. This indoor birthday party venue is ideal for children ages 5 and up, offering a variety of activities led by the birthday host (store owner Tara). From cupcake decorating to tie dye, from slime making to stuffing a teddy, there are so many options based on the age and gender of the party involved.
The Birthday Party Room
Frootie Tootie’s Party Room has plenty of space for ten children, plus seating for adults. There is a table to set up refreshments and a private restroom for guests. We brought in bagels, juice, fresh fruit and donuts for Annabelle’s Sunday morning birthday party. Annabelle asked for an ice cream cake we set on Frootie Tootie’s cake stand.
Upon arrival at Frootie Tootie’s, kids will hear their favorite songs playing and see a giant Happy Birthday greeting on a chalkboard. There is a table for presents and places to hang your coats. Balloons, hula hoops, and plenty of room for dance parties can be found in the party space as well.
In addition to providing the supplies for a craft, there are also goodie bags from the store’s candy shop! If you love old fashioned candy then you’ll go wild over the treats at Frootie Tooties.
What Happens at the Birthday Party
The party host takes care of EVERYTHING except serving food and cake. From set up to clean up, all you need to do is show up!
First the children make birthday cards for the birthday girl or boy. Then the craft begins. Tara guides the children in making whatever the birthday girl or boy chooses. Parents can help the younger children (we had a few 3 year olds present), but most of the kids world alone. After the kids made stuffed animals they were able to create beaded jewelry.
We took a break after crafting to sing, “Happy Birthday” and watch Annabelle blow out her candles. Everyone enjoyed ice cream cake while Tara picked up the space and prepped the glitter tattoo station. The kids LOVED the glitter tattoos!
Birthday Parties for Kids of All Ages
I truly think kids of all ages would enjoy a birthday party at Frootie Tooties. With the countless party themes, a birthday girl or boy would love to celebrate their special day in this magical place. After the party kids can shop in the old fashioned candy store or book store.
If you’re looking for a place to have a children’s party in Connecticut, Frootie Tootie’s is the new event space for you.
