With the first day of school right around the corner, check out my back to school shopping experience with Carter’s at Kohls.
This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I received the included Carter’s clothes as compensation.
For as long as I can remember, the end of summer was bittersweet. Long gone would be the late nights spent catching fireflies and spontaneous beach trips – in its place was an exciting school year routine. Unlike most children, I have always LOVED school.
There is nothing more thrilling than a backpack full of shiny supplies, the smell of a blank notebook, and a fresh school year on the horizon. Shopping for new school clothes was an added bonus – we’d spend an entire day buying outfits for the fall and I would proudly organize them in my closet in order of how I’d wear them to school.
I passed on the simple pleasure in back to school shopping to Annabelle.
When I told Annabelle we were going back to school clothes shopping, you would think I said Christmas is coming early. My daughter LOVES new clothes, especially when she gets to pick them out. I am amazed at how quickly such a young girl can develop her own style and personality.
We were extremely excited when we were asked by Kohl’s and Carter’s to check out their Back to School clothing.
I like to buy my daughters Carter’s clothing because the brand is known for great quality. Plus, Carter’s clothing is easily washable and there’s a variety of trendy styles to choose from.
Annabelle loves this chambray dress with rope belt because she felt it was pretty, but easy to play in (her words). Personally, I thought it was a great pick because it’s soft, breathable, and can be worn with tights and a sweater if the weather becomes chilly. My Mom always taught me to choose clothing for the school year that could be worn through more than one season.
Annabelle chose the floral leggings and blue stripe tunic because there was so much pink in the outfit. She always liked that she could wear the leggings with other items, like the chambray dress. I, of course, love the versatility of the outfit and that it keeps my often chilly daughter warm.
While we were back to school shopping Annabelle told me she NEEDED a jean jacket. I agreed of course – especially because everyone needs a denim jacket.
We paired the denim jacket with an olive green short sleeved dress that has another fun rope belt, hidden within the fabric. You can loosen or tighten the waist of the dress depending on the size of your little girl. Annabelle is petite, so we had to tie it a little tighter. She wants to learn how to tie a bow oh-so-bad.
The dress is light weight and could easily be layered over leggings or tights for even cooler temperatures. Annabelle said she could take the jacket off when she goes to play on the swings during recess… she has plans for everything.
Plus the dress has pockets… which to Annabelle is EVERYTHING.
Back to school shopping with your little ones should be fun and not the least bit stressful.
I’m thankful Annabelle and I have similar tastes because most of what she wears is something I would happily have in a grown-up size. Carter’s designs clothing that’s both stylish and timeless, so I know Annabelle can someday pass on her favorite outfits to her baby sister.
Now that we have gone back to school shopping, it’s time to enjoy what’s left of summer and get ready for another fantastic school year!
