Oh boy were my little first graders excited to see me yesterday! They were so excited that they ignored Mrs. Bear’s requests to keep the noise level down so she didn’t get a headache and SANG to me all day long. They danced too. Those kids…. were hilarious, awesome, funny, and the reason why I am a teacher.
The looks on their faces when I pulled the first present out of “Mrs. Bear’s Santa Sack” were priceless. “Gloves?!” one of them exclaimed, “These are so AWESOME!” (<—I taught them that word… they used to say, “Daaaaang” until I taught them “Awesome.”)
They all put on their brand new gloves in my 90 degree room and proceeded to high five one another, rub their face, and clap with joy. That moment right there was a moment I will never forget.
Little people being excited over a new pair of gloves…
Then when they opened their package to see their Penguin Poem Book and their Snowman Stationary, I swear it was like it was snowing in the classroom. They were running to and fro, skipping, hopping, and touching the pages of the book like they were the most soft and beautiful pages they had ever seen.
Thank you to my parents for helping me create such a magical moment in my classroom. You are incredible people and I am SO lucky you’re mine all mine =0)
With permission to post pictures online… here is just one that sums up their excitement:
And here is when Mr. Bear gave me one of our own Christmas cards inside his Christmas card to me. Sometimes he is one strange Bear…
