For some reason Ailey turning two years old tore a little harder at my heart strings then when she turned one. It’s been four months since I posted about Ailey and she has changed so much (even more so after her birthday on August 15th). She talks as much as her 4 1/2 year old sister and often tells me, “I don’t care” or “I love when you do _____ so much.” Ailey is basically a 6 year old in a 2 year old’s body. Here is a recap of Ailey at two years old. Happy belated 2nd Birthday Ailey! In the past year Ailey has become a tiny human with opinions, goals, wishes, and demands. Her personality has developed into one that people are drawn to (just like her sister) for she has the sense of humor of a grown-up. Ailey’s crazy curly hair and fair skin are just like mine and her big brown eyes and toothy grin are straight from Brandon – a perfect combination of Mom and Dad at two years old. The doctor says her long skinny legs are a hint she may be tall like her sister.
Two Year Old Stats
Height: 35.5 inches tall (90%)
Weight: 24lbs 3 oz (16%)
Clothing Size: Mostly 24months – 2T, but she has fit in a few 3T pants that belonged to Annabelle
Shoe Size: 6 in Natives, 5 in other shoes – everything is becoming tight though
Favorite Foods: Cereal (“muhcereal”), Blueberry Waffles (“wassles”), Eggs over Easy (off Mom’s plate), Grilled Cheese, Quesadillas, Macaroni and Cheese, String Cheese (“gong gong”), Popcorn (also “gong gong”), Snacks in general (“sacks”), Chick Fil A, Meatballs, Hot Dogs, Cookies, Turkey and Ham sandwiches, Black Olives (which she puts on her fingers), Applesauce, Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries, Sliced Apples and Peaches, Donuts – only the frosting (“Don-Dons”)
Foods She Doesn’t Like: Anything spicey (“picey”)
Two Year Old Likes and Dislikes
Likes: Playing with her sister – little Woodzees, Princess dolls, baby dolls, going on picnics; Paci – Bah (Her wubbanubs and the broken pacifiers); Coloring (all over the floor); the Fairy Garden; Going to the “Pahk;” Dressing up in costumes; Dancing in the kitchen (signature move is an attempted Arabesque); Running around; Riding her bike; Anything Annabelle does; Watching movies/tv; Singing songs; Reading books with Mom and Dad but then reading them to herself afterwards; Brushing her teeth and taking vitamins; Songs from Daddy at night; Mommy patting her back; Cuddling in Mommy/Daddy’s bed; Eating all day long anything she wants; Sleeping in her crib with her ‘babies’ (stuffed animals); Muffin (“my kitty”); scaring Daddy; her ‘new house’
Favorite Shows/Movies: Fancy Nancy, Super Why, Boss Baby, Frozen, Sing, The Little Mermaid, Peppa Pig
Dislikes: Being told “No;” Bugs (“buggies”); Not being able to do something on her own – putting on shoes/pants, grabbing food out of the cabinet; Being tired (when it’s time to go to bed, it’s time!)
Ailey wakes up each morning with an agenda – some days she is awfully smiley and others she just didn’t get enough sleep. She wants to eat breakfast as soon as she comes downstairs (often yelling for something to eat from her crib) and then likes to either watch a tv show or play with Lil Woodzeez or princesses. Ailey is usually excited to see her sister when she comes downstairs and wants to get started on their day together.
Ailey’s 2nd Birthday – August 15, 2018
We spent Ailey’s actual second birthday in Cape Cod on vacation. What other little two year old gets to run and play on the beach for her birthday? She started the day with a pink frosted don-don from Hole in One and ended her night with an ice cream cake.

Stephanie says
“A STRONG WILLED LITTLE GIRL WILL GROW TO BE AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN.” I love that quote! Both of my girls (6 & 18 months) are strong willed and it is an epic pain for me but when I look at it like that, it makes it more bearable. Happy Birthday Ailey!
