Annabelle // 13 Month Old

Today Annabelle turns 13 months old. I looked at my Time Hop and was greeted by this little cutie from exactly one year ago today…She was squishy and still smelled like new baby. She woke up every 3 hours during the night to nurse, and demanded to be fed every 3 hours during the day. She had blowout diapers on a daily basis and screamed for no reason in the middle of the night. We didn’t know she was allergic to dairy… She hated to be swaddled, but loved to cuddle. She didn’t like to be left alone much in her Rock-N-Play because she preferred to spend most of her time on my chest. She would make eye contact when she heard my voice and it was then that I started noticing how big and curious her brown eyes really were. Our love for her was (and still is) unmeasurable.

It’s so hard to believe that the teensy baby on my Time Hop is now a mini human. A walking, babbling – sometimes talking – smiley, sassy human who loves the world and all that is in it. She sleeps for 6 hours at a time in her crib, but sometimes ends up in our bed. She doesn’t like messes (like her Mommy) and often requests for her hands to be cleaned when she is finished eating. Her laugh is contagious and her smile is infectious -even strangers can’t help but smile right back at her. She brightens the most dreary days by just being Annabelle. She does everything with a purpose and often looks for our reactions – even when she knows she is being naughty. When she isn’t screaming with joy as her Daddy chases her around the kitchen, she is whispering secrets or asking questions with the point of a finger and wave of a hand. She is a superstar and a princess and a hilarious comedian. She is brilliant and bubbly and exploding with joy. Happy 13 months of life my sweet girl. We love you to the farthest point in all of existence and back again.
