Ahh… I can almost see summer’s end in the distance. Part of me is feeling sad that our summer adventure in New England is over, but the other part is excited for what’s to come. We’ve had a great time here in Connecticut. We’ve spent days at the beach, nights around a fire pit or the dinner table, and lots of time with family and friends.
Since my husband has mostly been in Georgia, we’ve been sending him tons of videos and pictures of our summer fun so he doesn’t feel left out. I purchased a second phone as a way to stay connected without the worry of running out of data (or a growing phone bill). I’ve saved money by having a second phone with it’s own phone plan from Walmart, which comes in handy when your toddler wants to go out for ice cream every other night.
Having another phone has come in handy for the times when Annabelle wants to call her Daddy, or one of her friends back in Georgia. She thinks she is pretty snazzy being able to make phone calls and send pictures all by herself. She won’t have her own phone until she is 15, but for now she can pretend.

A big part of our summer that I’ve wanted to document is my nephew’s soccer games. We watched him compete in a huge soccer tournament last weekend! My family has always loved watching him play goalie when we visit Connecticut and have been watching games since he started playing at four years old. Unfortunately Uncle Brandon wasn’t here for the tournament, but with our second phone I’ve was able to send him video and photos so he didn’t feel like he missed out!
Another event this summer has been Ailey’s development. She is changing so much every day that I have to keep track of her moves or I won’t remember everything that happens – from being able to do “Itsy Bitsy Spider” to taking her first steps.
