So long 2016. You were pretty amazing. Today I’m sharing my top moments from 2016.
I usually hate New Year’s Eve because of the hype to have one last amazing night before the year ends, so we are going to take it easy once again with a family dinner and low key night. It’s hard to decide which five moments from 2016 have been my favorite. We’ve had a pretty amazing year and I’m thankful for even the crummy moments.
One top moment from 2016: Ailey
Our favorite moment of 2016 is the birth of Ailey Leighton on August 15, 2016. Just when we thought our family was perfect, she came along and showed us everything we have been missing.
two. my sister’s wedding.
On May 29, 2016, we all watched my sister walk down the aisle. The wedding was picture perfect and the reception a blast. I don’t think anyone could have imagined a better celebration in honor of Ryan and Lizzie!
three. beach vacation.
We took our last vacation as a family of three to Destin two months before Ailey was born. My Mom joined us – which was amazing because 8 months pregnant plus a toddler in the Florida heat is not easy. Next time we go to the beach there will be a baby along with us and I’m sure things will be even more challenging – but fun overall.
four. sisters.
I know that the Annabelle and Ailey has only just begun, but their relationship between these two lovely sisters in just four months is amazing already. They’re so lucky to have one another and I feel privileged to be their Momma with a front row seat to their lives.
five. moments as four.
Our Christmas as a family of four was nothing short of chaotic – there were lots of tears, but more laughter than anything. I have always dreamt of being surrounded by my family on Christmas morning and even though Ailey was too little to tear open a present, it will only get better from here.
Those photos are absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t imagine a better five. I love the announcement photo and the one in their Christmas jammies. We’re the same way when it comes to New Years and I’m looking so forward to it. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family!
