I woke up on day two of our journey to the alter to discover I had lost my voice. Guess what though?? I took a shower, put on a cute dress, and said “fugedaboutit!”
While my family got ready to go to the beach, Mr. Bear and I set off to meet with our pastor, Dr. Ken Taylor, at the Destin Methodist Church.
When I first contacted Dr. Ken (after our reception coordinator recommended him) I was thrilled to discover what an amazing, funny, and nice man he was. He wanted to know anything and everything about Mr. Bear and my relationship before he married us. He also thought we should take a 160 question test that would determine what sort of problems we may have in our marriage (financial disagreements, unsettled feelings, etc). Mr. Bear gladly agreed to take the test and two days before our wedding we discovered some interesting things about one another! Nothing too serious or life threatening, just little unknown facts about our views on life and how we can prevent future arguments about petty things.
After we left Dr. Ken’s office we both felt like we could take on the world. We headed straight to the Okaloosa County Clerk to get our marriage license!
Filling out paperwork
Halfway to husband and wife!
We rushed back to the Inn so we could get to the beach where my MOH sister + her date mike, BM cousin Samantha, and BM Tine + Dean were impatiently waiting for us.
L & T – my MOH and BM – cheering for no rain – and celebrating the official start to the wedding weekend. The party began with the arrival of my Daddy!
Here are my mom and dad – ready to join us on the beach! After a few delays due to SNOW in CT, my pops finally made it to Destin – without his luggage! Believe it or not, the stupid airline lost his bags and the poor guy didn’t have any of his clothes until 10pm Friday night! Thankfully Destin has lots of places where a guy can get some nice digs.
It was so windy I had to keep my hand on Mr. Bear’s hat that resided on my head. I wasn’t saluting the camera, haha. Right after this my bff GF and her boyfriend Rugg came walking down the steps behind me!
In the yellow behind me is Mr. Bear’s brother, Bryan. He arrived in Destin that afternoon along with Mr. Bear’s mom and stepdad, and B’s girlfriend Noelle. By this point in time, more guests had arrived and were settling into the Inn. I decided to finally allow myself a little beachy drink (however you can probably tell I did NOT want my picture taken by the stink eye I am projecting).
After we all chatted and toasted to a great weekend, we ran off to our rooms to shower and get ready for a fun night in Baytowne Wharf! Stay tuned for pictures of one crazy night…
