Annabelle’s birthday is on December 13th. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Annabelle turning three
As we round out Annabelle’s second year of life, there is just so much to reflect upon. The first time she laughed. The first time she threw up. The first time we took her to the beach and she noticed the ocean.
Annabelle has grown so much since she was born in the wee hours on that lucky Friday the thirteenth. Every day she seems to change. Whether it is something she says or a new habit she has picked up, we have been watching her transform from infant to toddler to tiny girl before our eyes.
Growing Up is a Big Deal
I would be lying if I said I didn’t hate she is growing up. With Ailey being so small and starting to look just like Annabelle, we’ve been talking a lot about baby Annabelle.
Is it bad that I secretly like she still wears diapers and uses a pacifier? Even though she talks with the paci in her mouth and it drives me insane, the day she officially stops using one is the day she becomes a a big girl.
All of the cute habits Annabelle has now will be missed once they go away.
The way she rubs the taggy on her bunny against her face as she is falling asleep. I now see her giving Ailey her taggy when she sees her baby sister crying. She knows it is something she has always found comfort in and hopes it brings the same to her little friend.
The way she says certain words – her Ls are Ys, so like = yike and love = yove and Lia and Rylee = Yia and Riyee. Her baby sister is Aiyee and Muffin is Muffayo. “Of course” is a favorite phrase when you ask her to do something. “Do you want to play with me?” and “Pick her up” are said more than a few times a day. I hate to think some day she will no longer talk the same way.
We love how she likes to dance after she has a bite of something delicious.
I adore the way she loves her family and friends with every ounce of her being.
Annabelle gets excited about watching a sunset and spotting the morning moon.
The way she appreciates every walk of life and being part of this wonderful world.
I know turning three is not the same as turning 23.
Annabelle will still be our little Booch forever. Most of her personality traits that we love so much will not disappear, but evolve into something so much better.
Annabelle will always be clever, humorous, inquisitive, and compassionate. As we watch her grow up, we can memorize her innocence and encourage positive growth.
Totally understandable my friend. Lily turns 3 at the end of January and I’m freaking out for sure! Where did our BABIES go?! ahhh!
All the feels! ??
Beautiful. ❤️❤️
Can’t believe she is going to be 3 already!!! Wow time flies.
Precious pictures you have together!
