Did you know even the healthiest women do not get enough essential nutrients in their diet? I take a variety of vitamins, some daily and others as needed, based on recommendations from my doctor. The best vitamins for women will enhance your health and wellness, so consult with your physician on the vitamins you should take. I’ve compiled a list of my favorites to be the best vitamins for women.
All of the vitamins I take are by Nature’s Way, which can be purchased online from iHerb. I love that iHerb carries over 400 Nature’s Way products (that can be shipped to over 160 countries).
Alive! Women’s Once Daily
A great vitamin for women to take once daily is the Alive! Women’s Once Daily Ultra Potency Multivitamin Supplement. It is an energizer with food based blends and balanced for women to support multiple body systems. The multivitamin supplement is gluten free and contains no sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, soy, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Alive! Hair, Skin, & Nails with Collagen
Ever since the glorious pregnancy hormones wore off and my hair started falling out, my nails and skin began deteriorating too. I began taking Alive! Hair, Skin, & Nails with Collagen to make up for the supports lustrous hair, strong nails & vibrant skin, features every women wants to have.
Activated Charcoal
One of the newest vitamins I began taking in the last few months is Nature’s Way Activated Charcoal. I have suffered from IBS and Gastritis since high school, so I’m always looking for ways to relieve my pain. Activated Charcoal seems to be the first natural supplement that helps my stomach. I do not take Activated Charcoal daily – only when I know I am going to eat something that may upset my gut. Activated Charcoal “captures” or binds-up unwanted materials and gas in your belly and then carries it safely through your digestive system.
Magnesium Complex
I started taking Nature’s Way Magnesium Complex after my doctor said my blood work revealed I was low in magnesium. We need magnesium for the normal functioning of cells, nerves, muscles, bones, and the heart. Magnesium can be found in many foods, but my diet is often strange due to my stomach issues and I can’t eat many foods high in magnesium.
Nature’s Way PMS (With B6 and Other B-Vitamins)
As women, most of us are lucky to experience PMS once a month. Bloating, headaches, cramps, mood swings, and more make our menstrual cycle less than pleasant. Nature’s Way PMS provides health through the power of nature and nutritional support for a woman’s monthly cycle. The 4-herb blend naturally relieves PMS symptoms (I swear!) if taken during your cycle. The supplement is vegetarian and gluten free. The vitamins do not contain any sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, soy, dairy products, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Nature’s Way Calm Aid (Clinically Proven Lavender)
Every Mom needs Nature’s Way Calm Aid, a clinically proven lavender oil supplement that naturally reduces tension and stress. The pill is non-drowsy and can be taken once daily to help you become more productive and at ease. I have taken Calm Aid on a few different occasions where I was under a great deal of stress or anxiety and each time felt calming effects. I didn’t experience any weird after taste or side effects, so as long as a Mom is not pregnant or breastfeeding, I would recommend this staple in your medicine cabinet.
iHerb carries over 1,200 brands and 30,000 brand name products that may also be found at health food stores and natural pharmacies — however there is one important difference: iHerb’s prices are typically 30 – 50% less. iHerb carries over 400 Nature’s Way products that can be shipped to over 160 countries. Their Customer Service team also provides support in 10 languages.

I don’t take vitamins currently but I should.. I know I don’t consume enough vegetables or even fruit on a daily basis. Most times, I’m in a hurry so I make all these snacks and meals for the kids but neglect myself.
I’m really intrigued by the PMS one though – it’d be nice to be rid of the bloating and mood swings!
