Now back to the important stuff: What did everyone think about SYTYCD last night? I was so excited that last night’s show ran for two hours and didn’t make us wait until the following day to see who actually made it to the Top 11 (yah 11… not 10 like they said all along. If you didn’t catch the show yet, maybe you shouldn’t read this post).
However, I did not like how the judges went about telling the dancers their fate. I felt that receiving such devastating news that you did not make the show in front of the ones you love is worse than how they’ve done it in the past. I would hate for all of my friends and family to spend an entire day waiting for some judge to show up at my house, only to tell me that I wasn’t not in the top ten and should come back next year.
Something I must point out is that not one of the people who made it to the Top 11 are struggling dancers. If you read their bios they have all been dancing since they were little and have resumes that would shock you. They’ve already won tons of competitions, appeared on television, performed as back-up dancers for stars, and more. I guess most incredible dancers don’t go un-noticed for 18 years.
I LOVE SYTYCD. I was sad that Anthony didn’t make it also. They RAVED about him and told him that “couldn’t wait to see him dance when he wasn’t injured” and then they didn’t take him. But I agree, Lauren is my favorite so far. I love her!

I didn’t like the house call thing either, I like the old way better.
I am unsure how I feel about the all stars coming back. I do love some of the people coming back but it totally chnages the show dynamic…maybe it will be better…who knows.
I still miss Mia as a choreography!
I feel the exact same way about SYTYCD. 1. I hate that they’re not having the Top 20, even though it may be cool having the old contestants, but still 2. I hated how contrived the judge visits were 3. I love Lauren and Kent… they’re presh.
OH MY GOSH! I was hoping you’d write about SYTYCD! I also did not like the format of telling the contestants…it took forever and wasn’t entertaining and like you said…mean. I agree with you on Anthony! He was my favorite! I felt so bad for him and they had no good reason for not choosing him. I’d rather watch him over Alex Wong! My faves in the top 11 are Lauren and Kent! So exciting! Wow, this is the longest comment ever!

I agree with you on how Mia didn’t really explain to Anthony why he didn’t make the show…that would be the hardest part for me if I was in his position.

I so agree with you! Anthony was fabulous and I thought he really was going to make it. And I hated how they went to their houses and told them. It was silly. I much prefer the way they have done it previously.
