Hi girlies! While Miss Catalyn is spring breakin’ it up in Norway, she asked me to blog sit. Obvi I couldn’t say no! I’m Liz. I blog over at I couldn’t help but wonder…
What you need to know about me is that I write about random things like Pretty Little Liars, PSAs, and sometimes my cat takes over. I am also obsessed with the Backstreet Boys and JTimbs. (I know you already love me, right?)
Now, I have never went anywhere with my friends to spring break (like PCB, Cancun…you know the places…where you drink your body weight in alcohol.) But I have went more boring places… and it has taught me a lot about sunscreen, wine before flights and why you shouldn’t put a taco salad in the back window of your car.
1. Always, ALWAYS wear sunscreen. I had this bright idea not to wear any and lay out in the sun for two days straight. Needless to say I got sun poisoning, I was so sunburned and basically spent the whole trip laying in a tub of milk.
2. Never put a taco salad in your backseat window during rush hour traffic. You will hit the breaks and it will go all over the car…and your car will forever smell like salsa.
3. Know what slasher motels look like. If they fit the dark, one level, sign burnt out, only two creepy vans in the parking lot criteria, you should probably find a new hotel. It could go totally Joy Ride in 2 seconds flat. (Remember that movie?!!)
4. When flying, it is completely acceptable to get sloshed before boarding…especially if you hate flying. Sippin on Sizzurp (okay, it was wine) makes it easier to take turbulence. You could also sneak those baby booze bottles in your carry-on. It’s possible.
5. Always bring a real map. You know, one of those paper maps you never can fold right? (I know, so 90s.) It really comes in handy when your iPhone dies and you’re stuck in the middle of no where….wondering if you should take Route 5 or Route 22.
6. Don’t be afraid of going places. I was and missed the original RENT in NYC because I didn’t want “to get killed going past Broadway.” True story.
I really should have went somewhere drunk for spring break during college, but I think what I did learn from other random trips did really teach me lessons.
If not, there’s always Vegas right?!
Stop by and say hi, okay?
