I went to bed last night early so I could wake up at 5:15 refreshed and ready for the long day ahead….
Don’t you love when your body and mind have other plans for you?
I woke up four times for no reason, each time with some stupid song playing in my head, and couldn’t fall back to sleep for atleast 15-20 minutes. When my alarm finally went off it took everything in my power to not hit the snooze button. So I just laid there for a bit (like that kitty below) listening to Ke$ha’s “Your love is my drug” blaring inside my poor little ears.
Does anyone else ever wake up with stupid songs (they don’t even like) stuck on repeat taking over their thoughts? Why does this happen?!
Today is my first 7am – 7pm day.
It is also my first day in a classroom. Thankfully, I am with the 8-9 year old math kiddies, so I am sure to be entertained all morning (one of the reasons I am teaching elementary school – kids are cuter than pre-teens and they say the darndest things).
I also have an interview tomorrow for a second grade position… I wasn’t going to tell anyone for fear that I’d jinx my chances, but what the heck. I am going to need all the good lucks I can get tomorrow!
I know that around 2-3pm I am going to hit a wall.
I was wondering if anyone out there has any recommendations for healthy (pref-not-involving-coffee) ways for an extra energy boost during the day??

I’m obsessed with that last picture, too cute! Good luck getting through your long day and a HUGE GOOD LUCK at your interview tomorrow! You will do great!
PS I use green tea for added energy. Arizona Tea has awesome portable diet green tea packets that you just mix in water. Easy and delicious!

I am so proud of you for waking up so early and writing on your blog! I could sleep for 19 hours and still wouldn’t want to wake on time. I am so jealous of “early morningers.” Hopefully you’ll feel better throughout the day.
My trick for energy – peanut butter.
Good Luck tommorrow!!! Can’t wait to hear how it went!!

I had a terrible sleep last night too! I hate those nights where you finally fall asleep and then wake up for no reason.
Good luck today on your first day and good luck on your interview tomorrow!

Iced tea!!! It has caffeine (not as much as coffee) and if it’s unsweetened has ZERO CALORIES! Plus it’s super refreshing during these hot summer days and is made with mostly water so keeps you hydrated (which also energizes)! :o)

Protein, protein, protein! Nuts, cheese, peanut butter…any of the above will definitely give you an energy boost! I keem them all in my desk at school.
