Enjoy my latest installment of Random Things: February 2024. From random things on my mind to what I’m reading or watching, here is a peak at my February.
Random Things – February 2024
I have heard February is the border between winter and spring, but I don’t think I agree with that statement. We have had more cold and snowy days this month so far than we have had all season. I am okay with it thought – snow is one of my favorite things! Plus, the world looks so much more peaceful and serene when the ground is covered in white.
We escaped to Cape Cod last weekend on a little Harry Potter adventure and witnessed snow on the beach for the first time! The Ocean Edge Resort invited my family to experience Wizarding Weekend and it was SO MUCH FUN. Ailey actually cried when we were pulling away from the Mansion, declaring, “This was the best weekend I have had in a long time.” You can read all about our magical escape to ‘Hogwarts’ here. We always have an amazing experience when we visit Ocean Edge!
8 Random Things on My Mind – February 2024
- Less than 2 weeks until our first podcast episode goes Live. EEK! I heard it… and it’s good. I think you’re really going to like Room 4 Four!
- I bought a new style of denim from my favorite brand and was rather disappointed. I thought I could pull off “Iconic Straight Fit” but I was wrong. I miss when all jeans were skinny jeans.
- The 1975 announced they are working on a new album during their “indefinite hiatus” at the end of this tour… I KNEW THEY WEREN’T LEAVING FOR GOOD!
- We are going to see “Let’s Sing Taylor” a live band experience celebrating Taylor Swift’s best music at The Oakdale tonight. It’s actually my daughters’ friends’ birthday party – but the Moms were invited to. Our girls have been dancing together for almost 8 years!
- Did you know there are 22+ seasons of Daniel Tiger? I remember when Annabelle started watching it ten years ago and there were only 14 episodes (that we had to watch on repeat). This is hands down one of my favorite kids’ shows.
- A month ago I started seeing an old friend for nail treatments. I forgot how much I love to have my nails done – but it’s never been practical since regular paint chips in a day and gel destroys my nails. With that being said, my friend does dry manicures that’s transformed my nails. They’re actually growing and her gel polish never chips!
- Chobani Non-Dairy Coffee Creamer is my new jam.
- There are not enough YA movies out there. I may have watched anything and everything worth watching on all streaming networks in the last few months – can Netflix make a few more soon?
What’s In My Shopping Cart
I haven’t been shopping much this month because I have been waiting for a special release from Sezane. And I can’t fill my cart yet… because the newest Sezane launch isn’t until Sunday. But I have a few spring pieces in mind after perusing the Lookbook. I love the greens, reds, sandals, and wide leg denim. I won’t be in warmer temps until April when I go visit my best friend in the south but I could see myself wearing it here sooner than later too.
Reading, Watching, and Listening – February 2024
- Watching: “One Day” on Netflix – this limited series about a guy and a girl who meet the last night of graduation and become best friends follows their lives, checking in on the same day every year for a long time. The show started off slow, but by halfway through I couldn’t stop watching. WARNING: I cried a lot.
- Reading: “The Five Star Weekend” by Elin Hilderbrand
- Listening: The 1975 (esp when I can find their UK/Euro shows live on IG), a Dance Hall Playlist for Yoga (all the good 90s/00s stuff), Call Her Daddy Podcast
