Oh Hey Monday. It’s you again.
We have so much to do today – between a special Thanksgiving play at Annabelle’s school to packing for our trip to TN to cleaning up the room we’ve been living in so my parent’s can enjoy an empty house while we are gone. I don’t know how I’m going to get it all done, but I have faith it will all come together before our 6am flight tomorrow morning. Days like today are hectic, but with all that is going on in our life lately, I can’t help but stop to be thankful for everything.
Thanksgiving Week Plans
We are flying to Tennessee for the week to celebrate Thanksgiving with my in-laws early tomorrow morning. I’m so thankful we are able to go on this trip as we haven’t been down South in a long time. We’re looking forward to seeing Brandon’s family, eating a lot of turkey, and letting the girls run wild.
While we are away, we have quite a bit planned. On Wednesday, Brandon and I are going to raid our storage pod in Georgia to grab some cold weather clothes we need to survive the next month. Thursday is turkey day at Brandon’s grandpa’s house, Friday is my mother-in-law and my annual Black Friday shopping extravaganza (and maybe a little early surprise birthday party for Annabelle). On Saturday we have another Thanksgiving planned with my father-in-law’s family from Indiana and Sunday we head back to Connecticut.
Our Weekend Recap
On Saturday we celebrated my brother-in-law for passing the state EMT exam at our favorite brewery – Kinsmen. It was SO crowded that I didn’t take a single picture, but my cousin and her littles were there playing too. I had my fix of snuggles with my chubby cheeked niece – as well as some extra cuddles with Ailey who had a terrible fever all last night. She seems fine this morning, but a few prayers for her health would be appreciated since we are traveling and sick babies + being away from home = pitiful.
Yesterday we spent the morning looking at furniture (how much do you love our new bed?!) and then snuck away from the kids for an anniversary photo shoot with my girl Beth. Brandon and I haven’t had photos taken alone in years… and as you already know, I’m a huge fan of professional pictures, so it was long overdue. I have to hand it to Beth… the shoot was more than I could have dreamed of… so incredibly magical and full of love. I can’t wait to share the photos with you.
Did you find a house?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that question since Brandon moved up here last month. It’s about time for an update… but I don’t have that much to tell you just yet. I’m a big believer in jinxes so I haven’t wanted to share what’s been going on around here. The truth is there’s a contract and a house, but a small chance we may back out. I’m not going to divulge anymore. I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch… but I have an inkling we will know by the end of today if we are going to be in our dream home by Christmas.
It’s time for me to pack while Ailey takes a nap, but I hope everyone has an incredible holiday week with their family and friends. Wish us luck on the flight tomorrow and if you want… tune in to Instagram for stories and a peek at our week.

I hope Ailey feels better! This is a hectic week for us too (and probably for everyone), so nobody’s got time to be sick!
