Hmm… how shall I sum up our one year anniversary weekend celebration? Let me try it with a little stream of consciousness type thing:
Three fantastic new recipes created on Friday…Chinco-stinko-teague…presidential suite….jacuzzi…attack of the ducks… ponies in the woods… picnic in the car…. screw top champagne… wedding crashers’ reception site…Fells Point… live Jazz…dirty mussels = food poisoning.
We had a very memorable one year anniversary… mostly because Chincoteague wasn’t all we thought it was going to be and I ended our weekend with food poisoning.
We started our celebration on Friday night with quite a feast. I worked hard on a number of dishes: Parmesan baked shrimp, asparagus wrapped with prosciutto, roasted tomato and ricotta bites, and stuffed crust pesto pizza. We enjoyed some wine with our huge meal and had quite an amazing night.
There wasn’t much to do in Chincoteague – which is why we named it Chinco-sucks-Island. We spent most of the time in our suite, watching tv from the jacuzzi and drinking champagne. The sunset was definitely beautiful though.
As most of you know… I LOVE ducks… and there were about 4x this many ducks sitting outside our room, quacking away, like they came to wish us a Happy Anniversary! Mr. Bear and I disobeyed the sign that said not to feed them and a ton of seagulls began to attack and … well… we learned our lesson.
Overall, it was an amazing anniversary filled with lots of memories and laughs. We wouldn’t have changed a thing – except maybe ordering those mussels, haha.

I love how even though you and Mr. Bear hit some small “road bumps” you went to “plan b” and made it a memorable weekend!

Friday’s meal looks amazing! I am so impressed! I love The Inn at Perry’s Cabin too. While we didn’t stay there on our last visit, I am determined to stay there next time, it is gorgeous! Glad you had such a great anniversary weekend!
